When you say the same problem, do you mean the 3 red LED and Middle fan spins at 100%? That's what I think you mean. It also seems you put the card in another mainboard and it worked ok but in your EVGA X99 Micro2 it has this issue, several others have tried this also and it worked in another mainboard, including me. Can you make the FTW3 boot correctly by using the power flush method (holding the power button down for 15 seconds and then restarting)? Does the FTW3 prompt you to do a firmware update when you launch Precision X1? As far as if EVGA can return your same card after testing you will need to contact them directly, I suggest calling on the phone or emailing.

1. When you say the same problem, do you mean the 3 red LED and Middle fan spins at 100%? - yes;
2. Can you make the FTW3 boot correctly by using the power flush method (holding the power button down for 15 seconds and then restarting)? - yes, but sleep on / sleep off is faster method;
3. Does the FTW3 prompt you to do a firmware update when you launch Precision X1? - yes, i tried every version of firmware;
4. I'm afraid that they return to me my card because it works fine with a different motherboard. In this situation, I probably have to buy a new motherboard (no EVGA) and processor (this is probably better than losing a lot of time and money (for shipment) on the RMA).
5. EVGA support position: "if the graphic card has no problem on another motherboard, this is clearly not an graphic card issue".

Not sure that in the future I will remain a client of EVGA

I had the same problem as u and i fixed it by rma the card. I just tested it out and its working no 3 red lights after shutdown. I don't know if the bios update for my motherboard  to the latest version helped too. Good luck with your issue.

Yesterday I finally got a card by RMA.
Installed it and got the same problem.
I decided to change the system and temporarily installed z170 + 7700k. And again, I get the same problem.
As a result, I found out that the problem in compatibility of EVGA FTW3 and PSU Corsair HX1000i (new power supply, works with other cards without problems).

Question on the RMA.
In replacement, a new card is sent (in a new package, etc.) or not?
I received a 2080 in a box of 2080ti with the lack of most stickers and plugs, as well as very whistling chokes.

Looks like one of the Corsair HX1000i  Safety systems is malfunctioning if the PSU refuses to work

I'm using EVGA SuperNova 1000w G2 and I'm getting the same problem too. Have to wait until Windows loads, then shut down and start again. If I restart then it just continues. This is my second 2080 FTW3 too

Have had my 2080 ti FTW3 Ultra since Dec 2018. Go to use PX1 today, get prompted to update to new version (Have run numerous prior versions of PX1). Install new version and card loses LED lighting, 3 red lights come on, middle fan undetected and running at 100%. Obviously the PX1 software issue is not fixed. Getting the same "Device Not Supported" error message as posters from 2018 when I try to extract and run 2080Ti_FTW3_E202.bat to flash the MCU firmware. Rip.

I had a firmware issue and basically tried most out of the list of 20 or so versions before I found the right one.
Just go through them all, uninstall and then instal different version.
Worth a try .

It is definitely worth a try. From what I have read, the fix seems to be finding a way to flash the MCU firmware, but I will see if going down the entire list of PX1 versions can fix it. Thanks for the suggestion!

If you are successful, precision will give you the option to update firmware .
You haven't been messing around with the BIOS by chance ?

Run X1 as administrator

Try a full power flush - remove All power to the wall to anything connected to your PC (usb hub, printer, monitor ...) hold power button on case 30 sec to discharge your PC ... plug everything back in & Boot

--> Make sure Windows 10 Fast Startup is Off (when upgrading hardware & firmware)

My PC with dual EVGA 2080 Ti has No issues with X1 v1.02  ....  however ....

I had to"jump through a couple of Hoops" when Upgrading the version of X1 on my Win 10 machine

When installing ...are you getting several security alerts - generated in Windows 10 ... "blocked program" ... you need to: check "Windows Security"

"Allow an App through Controlled folder access"  ---> if you noticed a Security pop-up during the Software's install

Also check the: "Recently blocked apps"

Handy step by step how to:   Add or Remove Allowed Apps for Controlled Folder Access

I go offline to install, then shut down All background software - yep, even security software

I was just asking because a wrong bios flash on my card caused precision to put a wrong firmware update which sent my card to hell and back.
I found one version that let me update .
I should have made a copy of the precision link , sorry .
If you get no joy , just wait for EVGA to send you a file in self instal format, no flashing needed
Did you say you are going to flash BIOS in the future , I can help you with that?

I just flashed the slave BIOS with a file sent to me by Daniel in CS. No joy there. Ran through the steps provided by Cool GTX as well. I did find that on PX1 installs, Windows was blocking a file called nvcontainer.exe. I added it to the list of allowed apps but still not having luck yet. Will continue trying troubleshooting, first by installing different PX1 versions, until I hear back from Daniel on the next step.

Re: Not able to update MCU for ti ftw3 2020/03/04 22:15:30 (permalink)
Unfortunately, it looks like I am going to have to RMA the unit. PX1 had its way with it and didn't even buy it dinner first. It was so traumatized that it is now identifying as a FE. Flashing the slave BIOS did not work, and apparently that means that it is almost certainly a corrupted MCU, which I am unable to flash. The CS by Daniel M. has been great, as has the help from this forum. Thanks!

Re: Not able to update MCU for ti ftw3 to fix 3 red LED and middle fan spinning at 100% 2020/05/31 10:59:18 (permalink)
Hey guys,
I was having the same issue with an ASUS Motherboard, Maximus X Hero to be exact. Installed pXOC, the middle fan at 100%, 3 red LEDs over the plugs on, etc. I wanted to share my fix in hopes it may help someone else.

1. Downloaded the latest BIOS from ASUS and used the Easy Flash Utility 3 to install them.
2. Completely uninstalled Precision X1 and all configurations associated with it.
3. Closed all applications on my PC, even things running in the background through the task manager.
4. Reinstalled Precision X1 and LED sync.

Once I was given the prompt that the ICX firmware was updating again, I just stood by, the install was successful and my system was back to normal. I hope this helps someone, and thank you to all of the previous posters who helped me pinpoint my issue.
