Next-gen updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 still targeting late 2021 | KitGuru CD Projekt Red announced plans for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 in 2020. While this new version of Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed in-house, The Witcher 3’s next-gen enhancement patch is being handled by Saber Interactive, the same studio that brought the game to the Nintendo Switch. During the presentation, CD Projekt Red confirmed that both games are targeting a ‘late 2021’ release date on next-gen hardware. Unfortunately, they did not get more specific than that, but rumour has it that Cyberpunk 2077’s update is planned for December, marking the one year anniversary of the game. Little is known about the improvements planned for either game, but we do know this upgraded version of The Witcher 3 will also be heading to PC and will feature ray-tracing effects. Cyberpunk 2077 already features ray-tracing on PC, but no announcements have been made for ray-tracing support on Xbox Series X/S or PS5. Just in time for the holidays.

I am mostly interested in Witcher 3 since Cyberpunk 2077 looks amazing enough already on PC. I am guessing that any improvements will mostly be for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
My only fear with Witcher 3 ray tracing is that I will end up playing the whole game again. It’s so good but it’s also so long.

Witcher 3 is my choice. There are numerous endings...so playing again adds new challenges

yeah, Witcher 3 is almost infinitely replayable....

If 2042 is buggy I have Blood hunt on standby. OMG I haven't even started it. Well started to make sure the settings were right ,you guys make me want to play it and I want to play out my final days of bfv in peace  I like tormenting hackers and my KD which is nothing special.

Looking forward to Witcher and a fresh playthrough. I expect the new update will break a lot of my favorite mods, though.
