It seems that the newest drivers seem to have broken my system.   All of my games crash.  Specifically Dark Souls 3, Assassins Creed Origins and now Mass Effect Andromeda.  The games will get to the menus, but wont run if at 4K resolution and just crash. If I turn the resolution down to 2560 x 1440, they will run for a short little bit before crashing.

Mass Effect Andromeda gives me a Direct X error message if that helps. I can't catch what it says though.

When Dark Souls 3 crashes it causes my entire system to lock up.

I tried reinstalling the drivers to no avail.

Between this issue and the issue of not waking up that seemed to have been fixed with the hotfix drivers only to have this issue I am starting to think I have a defective 2080.

I didn't pay $800 for a GPU to deal with this crap.

Did you revert back to an older driver? You stated you reinstalled the drivers, but not if it was the same drivers giving you issues or older drivers. If you haven’t reverted back to a known working driver, try that now.

Also, no one pays to deal with this. Doesn’t matter if it is an xx30 or a xx80ti. No one wants to deal with frustrating issues.

I went one step further and completely formatted my system, reinstalled Windows 10 and installed fresh drivers.

For the most part games are running, but they seem to take a longer time to load.

Can you reproduce the issue while running the card in another rig?

I had a similar issue on an older card a ways back.  The card ran fine until in a game taxed it.  Turns out my power supply couldn't supply the juice needed when the card started to go to work. Perhaps the drivers moved the power needles just enough to expose a power shortfall or declining power supply?  Just a thought

For me latest driver had an affect on BF5 game only causing crashes at exactly five minutes repeatedly. Did the driver reinstall/driver rollback etc.

Fix was reducing my CPU OC by one BLCK. The crashes were a result of the Nvidia driver freezing then recovering but for the three seconds it took to recover it caused BF5 to crash. After reducing OC BF5 worked.
