so whats the deal with the egg? i have used them for years and never had one issue, here of late though its not so great, prices are no better than anywhere else, advertised "deals" that are not deals at all, slow deliveries (been waiting a month for a cheap usb 3.0 to 2.0 adapter), miss shipped items, and the latest is a Undelivereable to address. checked and all my info is entered correctly, and no real explanation as what it means. they have always been my go to but im starting to think i may change that.

It all depends; I only buy from Newegg when I shop there not the other sellers. It's an option on the left you have to select to filter them out. I haven't had any problems ordering from Newegg, but some of the sellers on there aren't so reliable. It reminds me of Amazon where there are zero problems (I've encountered) with them but if it's not sold by Amazon I usually don't buy it.

I think it's still great, It just kind of got messed up by having a marketplace and allowing other sellers into the site. They were doing much better when it was just them.

The only bad experiences I've had with Newegg are in RMAs. I once sent a motherboard back to them and the pins were perfect but they said they were all bent. I am very careful and even put the cap back on and packaged the board in its box the same way it came. It's not unheard of https://hardforum.com/threads/newegg-rma-technicians-are-breaking-my-returns.1694667/ Think about it, a MB is the most arduous thing to test. They have to put ram in it, put a cpu in, put paste on it, put the cooler on it, connect EPS, 24-pin, then test it. It's much easier to just bend a couple of pins.

I always try and buy from them and not marketplace sellers, sometimes it cant be helped though. The usb 3 to usb 2 thing is the only thing i had to buy from a seller since newegg didnt stock it, little did i know it was coming from china direct ( guess by a row boat) but the last two problems were direct newegg products, shipped from indy, one was a two pack of fans and they sent 120mm instead of 140mm, they first wanted me to ship them back at my expense and then they would ship the correct ones, i told them absolutely not since it wasn't my screw up, they finally agreed and sent the correct ones, they still have yet to send a shipping lable for the 120's. This latest was a ssd and they used dhl/usps and not sure what they meant buy the address thing.

A week ago I bought a Logitech F710 and went with the free ship (as always) it was delivered by FedEx within 27 hours! The price for the F710 was the same as Amazon but no sales tax. And yes, for all the years of using Amazon and Newegg 98% of the time I will only look at or purchase items directly sold by them.

Newegg does, but amazon I don't know unless I go mess with it. Newegg gives it to you in the search terms, left side of screen. You just check the sold by Newegg only and it rips all the other sellers out of the search results. I use it all the time cause I wont buy from there marketplace at all, ever. Edit: Yup, Amazon does it too but its wwaaaaayyyy down at the bottom of the search page.

He means permanently though, like a permanent feature in your account settings so it doesn't show marketplace AT ALL once logged in, instead of having to refine the search every single time.

Permanent?!?!? Well, that would totally defeat there making money off the marketplace and would be counterproductive cause most would probably do that, lol. Probably never happen.

It's not so much as they're going down hill as they're allowing parasite sales from third parties without sufficient checks and balances on quality control. I refuse to buy anything third party on Amazon or Newegg.

I still like and use newegg quite a bit. Saved a ton of money over the years, TVs to vacuum cleaners, MB, memory, monitors........ Just a few weeks ago I wanted to buy a game for 14.99 My CC would not clear, several times. So I called newegg, we tried a few times to put it through. Then they said to call my CC bank that issued the CC, I did, they did not see a problem. Bank said to call Visa, so I called Visa, they said there was no problem on their end. So I called newegg back. they said " Sorry for all the problems, we are going to just send you the game code for free" "You have been a loyal customer for many years, it's on us, enjoy the game" I received the code with in a half hour later.

Yes as Amazon has as well, But I want It Off as I browse the Site. Newegg does not let you turn this Off forever and that I what they both need to do.

I'm sure Amazon has taken a huge chunk of their business. I used to buy PC parts exclusively from newegg, now I buy them from Amazon most of the time and once-in-a-while from newegg. When I do buy from newegg, I try to make sure I am buying from newegg and not a 3rd party seller. On the Amazon side, I only buy from Amazon or Fulfilled by Amazon. Too much of a headache to deal with 3rd party sellers when it comes to returns.

I had a problem with a 3rd party marketplace seller and Egg promised 3 times they would take care of me. They never did. Like others I simply no longer view marketplace sellers on the Egg as legit options. Amazon has always done right by me when market place sellers mess up. Not the Egg. Also I am very disappointed with with the Egg killing their forums. The junk they have now is not worth posting on.

For me Newegg has taken from Amazon so it all depends where you started at. Remember Tiger and Buy.com and Computer City (On Line) and their were a lot move 10 years ago. But it is about Newegg going down hill because of 3rd Party Sellers and Market Place Not Amazon taking their customers.

Completely agree. Newegg lost the brand loyalty they had with me when they began the 3rd party stuff and obstructed figuring out which was which. As everyone said there's a tickbox for it these days, but that's just another hassle when searching for products that I don't want. Maverick1776 I agree Newegg isnt what it used to be. Amazon charges full sales tax in my state and isn't as aggressive with shipping and rebates, so I still shop mostly at Newegg just because it's nearly always cheaper for me.

A Bummer on this an now Amazon charges taxes in Colorado and even on EVGA Hardware. Newegg is not changing Taxes on EVGA Hardware being sent to Colorado

Newegg has gone downhill. They have done nothing to improve. I can see why Amazon is dominating the market for PC hardware sales. - Newegg live chat 15-120min wait time depending on the time of year
- Amazon live chat under 3min wait time no matter the time of year
- Amazon doesn't have a 8 dead pixel monitor/tv policy like Newegg
- Newegg has a history of sending out USED items instead of brand new ones to customers
I try to avoid 3rd party market place seller on Amazon and Newegg.

I agree it's the 3rd party sellers that really hurt them and I also kind of feel like Amazon has kind of taken away part of the special feeling of a great deal. I like Newegg for hardware but often I find Amazon to have close to or the same price. Sometimes since I have Amazon Prime I go with the faster shipping even if it's a little more and the return process with Amazon just seems easier. Though on the other hand sometimes Newegg does have a rebate or something that makes it worth it.

Brad_Hawthorne It's not so much as they're going down hill as they're allowing parasite sales from third parties without sufficient checks and balances on quality control. I refuse to buy anything third party on Amazon or Newegg.
Not sure why, Amazon guarantees that purchase and supports you if anything goes wrong. I've been buying on Amazon since the beginning and have never had any issues and if its a 3rd party seller if you get too many negative reviews your seller account gets disabled. If you get too many reports/negatives in a short period of time your account goes into review. I haven't bought 3rd party on Newegg but then again i haven't bought anything from Newegg in probably 5-6 years. The company was much better in the mid 2000's in my opinion than they are now. They had better customer service, better deals and their were willing to assist more from a warranty standpoint. I've got a Microcenter about 35 minutes away from me so I typically shop there now at least for CPU + Mobo combos due to the bundle deal and general $60-80 less on CPU prices. If not I'll go direct to the vendor such as EVGA/Corsair or just Amazon Directly.
