If I wanted to deal with third party BS I'd buy from Ebay. Always from Amazon or Newegg directly.

Brad_Hawthorne It's not so much as they're going down hill as they're allowing parasite sales from third parties without sufficient checks and balances on quality control. I refuse to buy anything third party on Amazon or Newegg.
Not sure why, Amazon guarantees that purchase and supports you if anything goes wrong. I've been buying on Amazon since the beginning and have never had any issues and if its a 3rd party seller if you get too many negative reviews your seller account gets disabled. If you get too many reports/negatives in a short period of time your account goes into review. I haven't bought 3rd party on Newegg but then again i haven't bought anything from Newegg in probably 5-6 years. The company was much better in the mid 2000's in my opinion than they are now. They had better customer service, better deals and their were willing to assist more from a warranty standpoint. I've got a Microcenter about 35 minutes away from me so I typically shop there now at least for CPU + Mobo combos due to the bundle deal and general $60-80 less on CPU prices. If not I'll go direct to the vendor such as EVGA/Corsair or just Amazon Directly.
But you cannot not buy an EVGA Extended Warranty and Use the Step-Up Program from a 3rd Party Seller on Amazon. Being that most if not all 3rd Party Sellers are not an Authorized Seller approved by EVGA.

Just got a package from Newegg today ..... poorly packaged I might add --- and this was an expensive part - lacking proper padding or 2 inch of space on all sides of outer carton - box was very light weight and not sturdy At least the item survived despite FedEx's efforts .... accordioned the box on one end and crushed the other

I order all my equipment from newegg and still do. I haven't had any problems. My orders still arrive in a timely fashion, and I make sure the seller IS Newegg.
Ordered my EVGA CLC280 on egg saver, was here in 2 days, took a 120mm fan about 3 days to get here and now ordered a new case from them as well. I haven't experienced any issues buying from newegg personally aside from a DVD rom drive that came in broken YEARS ago. They halved my cost back as I kept it and just superglued it.

While unrelated to Newegg I had my parents try to buy something off Amazon and the seller tried to tell them it would take a few months since it was coming from China. Looks like the seller was trying to offer an amazing price but push the delivery past the 90 day window Amazon has for returns. I contacted Amazon and the seller was kicked off the site after they looked into them. Still though something to make people consider since scammers will try to find loopholes.

Newegg's been good to/for me. They've been more reputable and better CS oriented than anyone else I have bought from, so far, this entire yr. Far as other sellers and vendors go... I have come to absolutely love the CS policies of my Credit Card, and Customer protections of Mastercard & Visa.

dont get me wrong i will still buy from the egg, to many years of good to spoil it with a few bad ones, my purchase history is like reading war and peace, very long lol, they just need to correct a few things. the market sellers are sometimes a necessary evil due to the egg not carrying a item but i would like to see some better packaging, the boxes have gotten thin.

Monoprice has them beat . Just received a defective component from them a week ago Monday . Contacted them immediately about the issue . first I receive an e-mail that I should of bought a more expensive device (an optical splitter) , then 3 days later they decide to refund me . But it was only a partial refund (they don't want it back ) . They won't respond to multiple e-mails even though they have read them . They also sold me a 501 surround setup they didn't even have in stock & kept "delaying shipping" , but not charging to my CC immediately ! I finally was able to get the charge credited back after almost 2 weeks . I will no longer purchase anything but cables from them for now on .

nearly all sellers, are 3rd parties. few manufacturers actually sell direct to the public. corsair, evga, aren't manufacturing anything they actually just reselling manufacturers items that use their labels and config options EXAMPLE: https://www.reddit.com/r/...nd_you_should_do_your/ amounts to samething as buying a dell/hp pc...pick your options and order (nearly everything they sell is just assembled by them) (car makers, mostly, do the same - just components made by someone else for them and assembled by them) newegg, amazon, etc are just another store front but their volume is enough to be able to eat a bad item, or even pressure the supplier to make good. (i've had newegg offer such, but never amazon)

No clue, I love Newegg.. My shipments are quite fast, and I don't pay for the rush processing/freight. Plus, their prices may not be lower than another big online competetor but if you shop for all the same items and go to checkout, you'll see the price in taxes will make you want to shop at Newegg still. I saved well over $70 in taxes by using Newegg, but with their prices being a little higher, they still beat their competition by $40-50 on a $1k build. Not much, but it adds up and makes me happy..

I tend to always buy off Amazon as the prices for things that i want are always cheaper for the most part, the times i do check Newegg they are either higher or the same as Amazon and i'll still end up sticking with amazon especially since i have Prime as well.
That being said i do prefer looking at hardware on Newegg compared to Amazon because it's so much cleaner and easier to view specs and various other things there i also use the wishlist thing on Newegg a lot when planning out builds instead of doing so on Amazon, there are some things that aren't on Amazon at times which i find on Newegg or other places so that is a plus side.

Check out this "Grade A", sold and shipped by Newegg, "refurbished' computer i just got.
it looks nothing like the condition of the PC in the product pictures. the cooling fins were completely blocked. everything in the computer was coated in a white powder and dust. like it came from a corn products refinery , or a rock quarry or something. The fine dust even puffed out when the CD tray opened and closed. The front vents were loaded with the stuff. HOW IN THE WORLD could that be considered "Grade A"? Newegg will not post my honest review and they delete my comments when i try to warn people. I can't send it back because it's a no refund item and i suspect i would have to pay for the postage to send it back. The on-line help is like talking to a 3 year old, i feel like they couldn't even tie their shoestrings if they had to.

I've never had an issue with Newegg, recently I received notice that they're trying to focus on Washington state and here is a free Premier membership. At first I was like cool, free 2 day shipping and no tax but I soon found out that their focusing on Washington also meant a new physical presence in the state so they're now charging tax. (Yeah yeah, I was always supposed to pay the Use Tax anyway) Newegg used to get most of my business especially if I didn't need it right away and could wait a few days for shipping but now I'm more likely to use Amazon if the price is the same.

The only problem that I've had when ordering off Newegg is not with Newegg itself, but with the Fedex shipping they use. Because I live alone in an apartment and have this magical thing called a job, every time I order from Newegg, the Fedex driver won't even leave my package in the leasing office to my apartment. If I'm not home, they take it back no matter how many times I tell them to leave it in the leasing office, both on Fedex's website and as a hand written note by me with my signature. There are few things worse than finally saving up the money for a gaming rig after waiting for over a year, only to have to wait almost 2 weeks for over $1000 worth of PC parts that I paid for because I work. Oh and I also don't have a car because my workplace is in walking distance so I don't see a point of spending the money on car payments, insurance, and gas when I could be saving or reinvesting that money. Unfortunately, that leaves getting to the Fedex office before they close that much more difficult if I can't get a ride there in time, not to mention, carting 30 lbs of PC parts home on foot or bus isn't the most practical way to get my package home. Anyways /rant off.

Newegg had Far Cry 5 digital download included free with the purchase of an 860 Evo 1TB. I had been considering a new SSD for some extra storage and wanted to get the game as well so I put my order in. Newegg voided the free game claiming it was out of stock but went ahead with the SSD for full price. Nice bait and switch attempt. Customer service ignored the bait and switch complaint and just told me to re-order when the game was back in stock. They would have been better off just sending me an email saying the game would be sent when it is available. Thankfully BHPhotovideo.com had the same deal plus I saved another $30 on tax.
