Hey guys, So I know back in the days, NewEgg was the place to go for computer components. Since they brought out marketplace it's been going down hill, but this time it's kind of hit rock bottom.
 
Am I in the wrong for thinking next day shipping is next day shipping?
 
I've been buying all my components (except for a couple of exceptions) through NewEgg and they've always done right. I used shoprunner for the most part and always got my shipments in 2 days. I couldn't see that options anymore, but I just bought a case, PSU and motherboard and decided to shell out the $72 for next day air.
 
Mind you, I placed my order yesterday at 9AM so it was super early in the morning, Enough time to get it packaged and shipped. They did so with my case, it's being delivered today, yay me. The PSU and motherboard? It stayed as packaged awaiting shipping all day and this morning I get an email saying it's being delayed and is barely shipping out today for delivery tomorrow.
 
I was given a 9/29/2020 delivery date, for $72. I had an option to do 9/30/2020 for $31 but opted to receive it as quickly as possible.... So I messaged customer service and asked them if I could get a partial refund for the difference in shipping cost and they told me that the shipping you pay for doesn't count until it's shipped.
 
What? So if you pay next day air, they can take 7 days to ship it, but you'll get it on the 8th day and they can just say "Processing".
 
Does this make any sense?
 
I know it's just an extra day, but it does bother me that they offer next day air and it turns into 2 day shipping at the same high cost.

Unfortunately, that's generally true about most shippers. Unless they specifically claim that they will ship the same day they receive the order, then all "next day" or "second day" really mean is that is how long the delivery company is claiming it will take to get to you.

It's been a few years since I've purchased anything from Newegg. They used to have a "pay a little more for rush handling" that gives a higher chance of shipping that day, but I don't know if it's still available.

I saw that, But I honestly figured the next day shipping would oversee that, but I guess not =/

If you're close to an Amazon distribution center, then they're hard to beat.

Shipping can get even more annoying. I've had vendors ship late in the day, past the UPS cutoff time on Thursday night, which means what should have been next day comes in on Monday. That's "fun" lol.

I'm actually closer to the NewEgg one lol, They just don't offer Will Call anymore. It's 20 minutes away from me, next to the Whittier Training Center where I used to go to school for my Carpenter training :(.

you would think paying a premium gets you premium handling priority... might be more due to Covid though .?
