So I held off on playing New World until 10/18 I officially made it 36 minutes into the game I had one crash 10 minutes in and a second 36 minute in. Hopefully my replacement card will be here this coming Tuesday.

I still want to give new world more time but I am very cautious considering it has killed one 3090 already I don’t want to have to wait an RMA another one.

I suppose my question is will EVGA continue to warrantee those cards that are being affected by New World even though it is a known issue?

I would assume they would continue to warranty the cards, as they stand behind their product. The only time I could see them denying warranties is if they specifically warned users not to play the game.

Has this issue not been fixed by Amazon?

I would assume EVGA would honour the warranty regardless though

No, Amazon is pushing off blaming and more cards are experiencing failures.

I had to RMA my 2080Ti a few months back for dying and not posting any more, now my replacement has me worried with New World. Twice now I've had the PC shutdown whilst playing. Since the second shutdown I've removed all OC and also limited NW to 60FPS.

This has happened with no other game, even RDR2 is perfect for hours on end at the highest settings. My whole PC is watercooled, even the RAM, so temps are incredibly low under heavy load.

There is something up with this game, I refuse to believe all cards are simply flawed its killing. I won't be playing any more for now.

Has this issue not been fixed by Amazon?

Why would you blame Amazon for hardware defects?  EVGA made a statement that the cards which failed, failed due to hardware defects.

If EVGA could blame Amazon, they would have.  Therefore, why are you blaming Amazon?

3090 FTW3s have been failing for nearly a near; with the almost exact same symptoms.  I have been saying for nearly 10 months that the cards have a problem.  The New World problem isn't very new.  For a year, cards have been failing with the exact same symptoms in Halo MCC, WoW, in web browsers, or just while sitting idle.

The problem is that the cards are able to draw power spikes which exceed the VRM's capabilities.  The problem is that NVIDIA's half a dozen current sensors are too slow to detect those power spikes.  The problem is that low-demand games/loads have the card running at low power, and then all of the sudden a load hits it while the card is in performance mode, and the current spike makes it through before NVIDIA's driver/software/firmware drops the boost.  This is what causes the card to black screen and causes the fan to go to 100%.  The card black screens and the fans go to 100% because the VRM turn off due to overcurrent protection.  The VRM should never reach overcurrent protection if the NVIDIA driver/software/firmware was fast enough, but the driver/software/firmware isn't fast enough.  Cards with high factory power limit (3090 FTW3s for example) are more likely to black screen/100 % fan than cards with lower factory power limit.  Similarly, a 3090 FTW3 with the BIOS switch in XOC position is more likely to black screen/100% fan than a 3090 FTW3 with the BIOS switch in the Normal position.  When the card has an additional hardware defect (such as a soldering problem, VRM with manufacturing defects, or a card with bad power balancing causing some inputs to be under higher load and higher temperature for prolonged durations), the black screen/100% thing could manifest itself as a dead card after power is cycled.  This is because the overcurrent protection in the VRM wasn't fast enough to prevent the VRM from being damaged by one of the other existing defects/problems.

Bricking a GPU in an hour? Will you try New world with your new card?

You said you had two crashes in New World. Does the crash happen in any other game?

How do you explain the ASUS cards dying with New World? How do you explain the Gigabyte cards dying with New World? How do you explain the AMD cards dying with New World? Just curious? It’s not just an EVGA issue, so I am curious what is causing the other companies to lose card. I have started seeing a good bit of cards showing up on ASUS and gigabyte pages over of Facebook, so it can’t just be the EVGA solder issue at this point.

... it can’t just be the EVGA solder issue at this point.

I agree; I never really bought the soldering story in the first place.

The 3090 FTW3 Rev 0.1 cards had an issue; more than any other card.  That is something someone should get to the bottom of.  What change did EVGA make between the 3090 FTW3 Rev 0.1 and Rev 1.0 to fix the power balancing issues, the power throttling, the less abundant black screens, and the less frequent red lights of death? Just digital power management instead of analog?

As far as the NVIDIA cards are concerned, it appears to be a design issue; a design issue I tried to explain above.  Among those cards, some have it more than others.  The 3090 FTW3 Rev 0.1 had something uniquely wrong with its design. The 3090 FTW3 Rev 0.1 has a uniquely frequent failure rate.

Did you turn the option on to limit frame rates?

My 3090 ftw3 (sandwich front/back watercooled bykski block 65C max hot spot) blow up after 64h (in beta New World)
2nd card (1.0 version pcb) didnt blow up... it just died (80% power limited) i had 178h in New world but it just died in warzone after a blue screen. Card was not recognized in bios.....and no display
Crazy fact is that i had to change Motherboard as even after installing my 1080ti i had motherboard vga led Lit up ( i even clear CMOS) and had problems with video and my windows log was full of vga issues ( games run with vey low fps ...crashes)
