I Posted this in the EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series  section and didn't get any opinions,  so I'm posting it here.

New to the forums  but as you can see - been a member for a while...
so,   I was forced to buy a card for my video editing... the only thing available to purchase asap was the RTX 2060 SUPER XC ULTRA, OVERCLOCKED.     I wanted to get the 3060ti ftw  that was actually cheaper  but could not wait in line for it and F the buying from a scalper thing...     my question is,  is it worth doing the step up to the 3060ti ftw3 ultra gaming?  or should I wait out the 90 days for maybe something better ?  I'm not looking to spend more than $100.00 on the step up...    right now  it would be $50.00 to do the step up. ( realistically it would be 80 something  as i would be loosing a few dollars as the 3060 is actually cheaper than the 2060)

Any insight would be greatfull.

Reply .. in February theres rumored to be a couple more models coming out with more ram ... if it’s within the 90 days I’d recommend it for you for your editing purposes. And should stay within the budget you are looking for . 12gb variant and a 20 gb of course the 20gb will be more expensive

"The EVGA Step-Up allows you to upgrade your product within 90 days of your original purchase date. For details, look over our Step-Up section under Support. Next Step: Once you are in queue, the 90 day limit no longer applies. If you cancel after your 90 day limit you will not be able to restart your Step-Up. When your Step-Up is ready, you will receive an email with information on payment options."

That is copied directly from my queue page. What this basically means is that you have the 90 days, from purchase date, to get into the queue and/or leave to, I guess, get a different upgraded model? After that 90 days from purchase you are then SOL. If you leave the queue I believe you would then have to buy another card from one of the approved retailers and start over. So if you are in queue I suggest you just wait it out. You are guaranteed the card once your position comes up and you do everything they tell you from there on out. This is all just my understanding of what I read so there could be things wrong from what I said above.

jtoya85,
Yes,  I know how the step up works.  My question was about the card i have and stepping up to the 3060 worth the hassle.. I see that the new 3060 12gb was announced and hopefully in the next month or so i will be able to step up to that instead.
