Hope this is the right place for this.  I am looking at getting into the 1440p 144hz monitor game.  The issue i am having is deciding on the size.  Of the ones im looking at they all have 144hz and 1 ms response time.  All are VA panels.  My question is this.  Is 1440p not enough res to go 32"?  I know the PPI will be better on the 27 but since i have no where to go look in person i'm trusting yalls advice.

IMO, 32" is too big for 1440p.

In my opinion, 27" is the sweet spot for 1440...

Me too....the 8k one is interesting, but nothing can drive it yet (at 8k anyway, imo)

First seen it at 2k. So it's cheaper atm but no way till it reaches $1000.. but by then there will be bigger screens that do 144hz.

Grab something or keep playing the waiting game I guess. Always something better around the corner.

I've had a Samsung C32HG70 for 9 months now and I've really enjoyed it. As some have said the PPI isn't as high as a 27 inch but it's perfectly acceptable to me. The model I got supposedly supports HDR, but that's not why I bought it and I've read that it's not a good experience. The only complaint I have about the monitor is that the stand takes up a lot more desk space than needed.

    Good luck with your decision.

UGH i am seriously leaning towards 32.  I am coming from a basic 1080p 24 incher.  Im sure the 32 will be more than pleasing.  I want 144hz so the 4k stuff is out for me.  As for the ultrawide stuff not too sure on that one.  I will look more into it as i still have a few weeks before i can make the purchase.  Keep the comments coming folks.

I've gone from a 24" 1080 144hz gsync monitor and always felt like the picture should be taller. Finally grab a 27" 1440 144hz gsync monitor and it was like wow.. finally the picture dont look squished anymore. Then a bought a 40" 4k monitor that was cheap and was like super wow.. 60hz sucked but it is what it is. 4k was awesome.. gave the now 27" 1440 165hz (upgraded warranty replacement from the 144hz model) to my 8 year old son.

Many months go buy and I was upgrading his rig to a new 1080ti and I was like wow while testing out some games on it.. was so smooth and fast since it was 164hz and gsync.. everything i was missing with my 4k 60hz screen.

So i upgraded to a 34" 1440 ultra wide gsync 120hz screen and was very happy.. a perfect medium.

I'd say hit the stores and see the demo monitors in person.. hard to walk away from a ultra wide seen durring gaming.

Though the 27" 144hz+ 1440 gsync monitor would no doubt satisfy.

A 27" is pretty much perfect. A 32" would be a little better. Personal preference of course.

Saving money is nothing to be ashamed about. If I understand correctly, your model is made with the same Samsung panel that mine is.
I hope you enjoy your new monitor!

Okay so ive been using this monitor now for a week and everything seems okay except one thing.  I have the option to change the response time on it.  When i set it to high, giving the lowest response time, i get screen artifacts ONLY on desktop and in games and only when set to 120 or 144hz.  As i type this i am set to 144hz and with the response time setting at HIGH and it doesnt artifact.  but if i minimize this screen my desktop will and in games it will.  I can try to post pics if that will help.  I am using the DP cable that came with the monitor but it does it with the HDMI cable as well.  With the Response time setting turned off i believe i am somewhere around 6 or 8 ms but with it on its alot lower.

Any suggestions.  I really dont want to pay to ship this heavy thing back.

Sounds like you'll need to send it back if everything works fine with it set to off.

Me too....the 8k one is interesting, but nothing can drive it yet (at 8k anyway, imo)

I think we have quite a long wait before we have a GPU that can drive 8K and maintain at least 60FPS...

I would wonder if it will really be that long. It really depends on what an 1180 can do compared to an 1080. It could be SLI might allow 8K 60fps in some games. I am thinking it will still be kind of beyond this generation but not that long before SLI should allow 8K in a number of titles as I expect PC gamers will be playing PS5 ports at 8K if a next generation console can run them at 4K.
