Hey gang,
So it has been a while for me, my last build was in Dec 2013 with this EVGA X-79 Dark which I must say has been a truly rock solid system for me. Could not be more pleased with how it has done over the last few years. Only thing I upgraded during this time was GPU.

I have been out of the loop for a while on CPU technology, but decided I was going to do a new build this year once the newer Intel processors were out. Now that I see the Z390 Dark from EVGA announced, my plan is to go with that motherboard.
I want this system to be just as good for me as the X-79 system has been. I want to get the most bang out of it as well. I already have all the funds set aside for this new build, now it is just a matter of availability and getting all the parts here.

What I have so far:
EVGA Titanium Modular 1000w power supply inbound.
EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra on Pre-Order.

Obviously I will need ram, SSD's, Case, etc. For the case I am looking at one of the EVGA DG8 series.
CPU - strongly looking at the i9 9900k processor.
Ram - have always had good luck with Corsair Dominator series. 32 or 64gb?
SSD's - not up to speed on the newer stuff, NVME - etc? Very partial to Samsung.

I will be using this system mainly for gaming in VR, which is very demanding in and of itself.

Would be most interested in thoughts on the cpu, ram, and SSD's. I will be ordering the Dark motherboard and CPU as soon as they become available.
Thanks for any tips!

I know it is a beautiful board don't get me wrong but you only gone be able to run that processor at 5.2 GHZ with that expensive motherboard so you have to ask yourself a question, is it worth it

Well whether it is worth it is very much a subjective thing to each individual.
As for me, heck yes !! I could not be happier so far with this new build.

Finally got IL-2 set up and Steam VR installed.
Just ran a quick 8 versus 8 mission ( Spits versus He 111's and JU 87's).
New PC still at stock settings as I have not begun to overclock yet.
Initial impression is I think I am going to be happy.

My 2080 Ti appears to also be running a little cooler in this new case so maintaining a little better boost clock.
Won't have time for more in depth gameplay till sometime next week.
