I purchased a Z15 KB some months back on a great sale and have been using it ever since. I immediately noticed how crazy sensitive the switches are to light pressure. Increased my typo rate by a billion or so. LOL I know, I'm supposed to hover over the home keys, not rest on them. But I'm old and it's a well-ingrained habit. I have gotten a lot better (I write a lot of code and had to).

Questions:

1) How can I determine which switches are on my plank?

2) Will any of these replacements retain the precision but lighten up on the sensitivity?

Thanks!

If you've never typed on a mechanical keyboard with modern day switches it takes some getting use to. I was in the same boat when I got my first mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX red switches almost 10 yrs go. Cherry MX Reds are linear switches just like the Kailh speed Silvers that you have. The difference between them is the Reds require 45g of downward force to actuate while the Silver require 50g as well as a shorter travel distance and actuation point. Linear switches are that linear downward actuation with no resistance in the way. If you are mainly a typist I'd suggest looking into tactile switches or clicky if you don't mind the clicky sound. These 2 types have a tactile bump or click when pressed giving some resistance against accidental key presses. Also switches with a heavier spring anything greater than 50g.

I recommend the Kailh Speed Copper switches we have on the site. Or you can search for Akko CS Lavender Purple switches  on Amazon. These are 50g tactile switches with a standard travel distance and actuation point great for typing.
