I guess the best way to cool a card is to have a better heatsink maybe 300% more silver content and if you have 3 cards they create some sort of crazy air vortex right down the centre of all 3 of the cards.

I think that the 300% more silver would make the New Card/Design Very expensive, when i first did this post the cost was a main consern, Everyone wants a Extremly cool card ( performance and design ) but no one wants and Extreme Price.

+1
I dont think Silver is the right material to use in this case, I rather it be a Pure Copper Heatsink, now that would be more cost effective and give great cooling as well.

i also think that they could try to make a heat sink that has hollow copper pipes with some sort of liquid or material in it what has low conductivity to heat that would help cool the GPU and Heatsink, that would also be a good new idea.

sounds vaguely reminiscent of something some people refer to as... heatpipes....

I think they want to avoid people RMAing there cards due to failed LEDS :P

i dont think that failed LED's would be a problm, if is that big of a deal then they wouldnt have put them in the p55 and x58 classified boards.

This is why you make them easy to re-place, just have EVGA mail you a new one

Are you asking about changing the HSF casing, an aspect that is upsidedown and out of view in most ATX computers?  For what it is worth:
  1. MANY casing ideas have been tried over the years, at this point the reason they are starting to look similar is because an optimal configuration has been found for each card type.  Until a better and cheaper configuration comes along, they are going to keep looking like this.
  2. The the point of the heatsink is to remove heat, and over the years they have been getting better as they cope with higher heat loads in the same form factor.  Just because the casing on the outside isn't looking any different doesn't mean the cooler itself isn't changing.
About the only changes I'd make would be to improve thermals (my methods may cost EVGA more money than to slap a sticker on the bare nVidia casing); if that happens to improve the look (as those examples you gave by Asus weren't done just to be different), whoop-dee do.

So far the only EVGA card that looks cool is this!!!

It has been tried before to cool just one GPU:

The issue with having heat dumping into the case wasn't as big a deal back then as it is now; only 2-way SLi was possible, 7900GTX didn't give off more than 110W heat each, and quad cores didn't exist.  There were hot duals, but overclocking wasn't a market that companies actively pursued as much.

Here's the 7800GTX and the 6800 Ultra

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

1o ounce bar at say $20 an ounce $200 bucks you wouldn't use a whole 10 ounce bar so its not really that expensive its more that silver tarnishes so what it you had a silver insert with a pure copper backing plate with heat pipes and vortex fan arrangement ??

Edit-- have you ever seen a faulty network card LED ??? probley not no matter how old it is
