z999z3mystorys https://twitter.com/NVIDI...tus/926433998590558208 seems it's a collector's edition, and hoping it's not a collectors edition of Titan Xp (that would be uh... funny?) so it should be a Volta titan (I hope)
One would hope for Volta. However, Nvidia just released the 1070Ti...maybe TitanTi?

This is the Titan Xp Waste of money edition, obviously. It will probably be a dual gpu, $4k dollar hunk of silliness like the Titan Z was

Titan xp ti? Don't think so as the titan xp is already the full chip.

That's reason why I keep money for GPU. I save money almost 8 months for premium GPU and when I have them I afraid to spend everything on one year old model. There is two options, to wait to GTX1080Ti price drop after Volta launch and to buy GTX1080Ti + 1TB M.2 EVO line or Volta. Not Titan volta but some high end model. TITAN is for reach people, overpriced, referenced and usually crippled as much cheaper model later. People in different economic situation don't understand but when you save so much money than it's not easy to spend them before you made nice decision and no place for mistakes. GTX1080Ti is great for me. But what if she could be bought for less price after Volta reach market or I would not complain to spend everything on new premium Volta. My GPU last long and because of that I need reliable manufacturers and model with improved power section. Mostly because watercooling is always idea but never more than 50-50% chance than I could afford. If I need to choose what would I like to win from hardware that would be nice real custom watercooling kit with 280mm radiator and X-Res D5.

I wonder if this will be the Titan XpZ... I mean, they show us nothing, so we may as well speculate right? I am curious as to what they are up to now.

But what does that entail? RGB and an extra $200 on top of the alrighty hefty price... faster ram, now using the 12ghz chip that EVGA is using on the FTW3 cards... just the word collectors edition and extra hefty price adjustment... my curiosity is piqued and I wanna know more, even though I won’t buy one, lol.

NVIDIA Titan V Volta won’t be launched until GPU Technology Conference 2018 (GTC 2018) and that takes place March 26-29th, 2018. GDDR6 is limited supply so don't hold out for that and HBM2 too expensive ive seen a Nvidia gpu time line with 14Gbps Gddr5x voltas.... so think 16 Gbps GDDR5X maybe 16 GB of ram maybe 24GB

bobmitch Remember the 580 series "Call of Duty" GTX580 that EVGA released? I had it...superclocked. Was a great card
Still have my COD edition GTX580. Great card. Yeah The whole Titan X(p) Titan XP thing discouraged me from considering the Titan line for next gen if there is one. Bought the X(p) and a month later the Titan XP dropped out of the blue, a Star Wars edition isn't going to entice me to go from my current card.

From what I have seen its just a Pascal Titan. Nvidia is going to milk Pascal as much as possible since AMD didn't even bring a competitive card to their 1080 to 1080 TI series of Pascal cards. The lifespan of Titans has become too short, honestly. Now with all pascal cards offering the logical processing cores for those that do 3d work/developers in the way they are designed. Honestly the money is not really worth going from a 1080 TI to a Titan XP. Just depends on what performance you want and if those few extra frames are really worth it to you at the big price hike per frame.
If they want it to fall disappear off the shelves before VOLTA comes along. They will need to offer a better factory heatsink that performs almost as well as the aftermarket ones we have seen as of late. Maybe HBM2 to really sweeten the deal. Because honestly if they do not include that, some fancy LED's and maybe a better stock heatsink its going to be hard to sell. Some will buy it just for Star Wars and if they are willing to make it Star Wars themed I would not expect HBM2. They are going to try to sell this thing on Star Wars fans alone. Get the limited collectors edition Star Wars theme video card now! Just like Battlefront Star Wars fans ate it up.

NVIDIA completely beat AMD. Now you see why EVGA ignore demands of people to build AMD Classifieds FTW, etc... Imagine fail with Vega64, slower than GTX1080. To sell NVIDIA because very unpredictable projects from AMD. NVIDIA know could joke and make some extreme expensive Collectors Edition cards. That mean that company sell good all models no matter on price and recognize buyers who don't care to pay few hundreds more for something unique and rear. But moment when NVIDIA decide to sell alone TITANs, that model lost good part of attractivness. People invest more money if they get SC version and Hybrid model, Hydro Copper out of box, famous warranty. NVIDIA become selfish with TITANs and good part of people lost interest for them. But looks like not enough to NVIDIA change minds, or maybe they will change in future.

NVidia currently beats AMD on the high end - but the mid-range is a LOT more competative. This is mostly because AMD's insistance on using HBM for their high-range Fury and Vega cards has been a VERY BAD design decision to date. I have seen a rumour about a new Vega Pro card though. http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20171113
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.
