I've had my NU Audio card since the end of May. Today I'm noticing that the volume level is way lower than yesterday and nothing seems to have changed as far as the system sound level or NU audio app controls (Master 80, headphones 60). I have to raise master to 100 to achieve the same levels with my Fidelio X2's or Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd gen's. This is fine I guess... just confused as to why the volume drop all of a sudden. I'm really hoping something didn't happen to the card or is this just part of the normal aging process? I'm new to sound cards.

Edit: Just tried reinstalling the driver and restarting. The volume sounds even lower now. I need master at 100, headphone to 75-80 for the same level as before with master 80 headphone 60. When I first got this card, I tested 100 master/ 100 headphone and it blew my head off. Now I don't even wince at that level. I thought it was maybe just my hearing, but my phone level, which I never change when connected to headphones, sounds the same as I remember.

First try to do a hard power off.  Turn the system off, switch the power supply off for a few minutes, then go ahead and turn it back on.  This resets the headphone amp on the card, which might be all that is needed.

If that doesn't work, then I'd try a boot cycle with the NU Audio Card removed from the system, and then later reinstalled.

Thanks, I'll try this now. If I do end up needing to try a boot cycle and remove the card, should I uninstall all drivers first or just worry about the hardware?

I'd start with the hardware.  There's a couple driver things we can do after, but I'd try the hardware first.

The hard power off definitely helped if not fixed. Will try the boot cycle if it happens again in the near future. Appreciate you, @EVGATech_LeeM.

Great to hear!  So far, that hasn't been a common issue, but this usually does the trick.

Tried the boot cycle last night because it was getting worse. The volume levels are back to normal now.

Hmm.  Let me check with our team to see what might be causing this to continue happening.

Are you by chance putting the system to sleep before the issue occurs?

I returned last night after putting the pc to sleep and was back at the lower volume levels. I did a boot cycle and everything is back to factory condition as of now. It may be an issue with sleep... sometimes I hear audio glitches like crackling or no sound after waking that requires a reboot. That's always fixed it before, but the lowered volume thing is new. It's good now, but I'll update if it goes sideways again.

For the record I'm running Windows 10 Pro latest build 1903 18362.239.

Thanks again.

We have a new driver planned for next week that may fix random sleep issues, so that may be what's causing your issue.
