    Ok no overclocking on the 3080 FTW3 Ultra, right around 5.1million PPD..  GPU is only at 70% load using Cuda.  Ok now getting some work units coming in at 5.3million PPD

    Nice! I'm sure as projects get more & more stable they'll up the CUDA usage and you might get around 6M.

    Right on Scott
    Good to hear...
    I had seen some less than stellar headlines, on some you tube videos and I didn't have the time to crawl into some rabbit hole....
    Enjoy
    Are you keeping track of the power consumption?

    Its using about 330watts.  I also game on this machine so I am not pulling back power on.  Entire machine is at 920 watts Folding, that a overclocked I9-7900X, 3080, 2080TI Foldiing

    Got some new Compute benchmarks for all Nvidia Cards under linux for the 3080. Really good perf uplift but Pascal era efficiency per watt.

    What kind of temps are you getting and are you using a custom fan curve?

    Ok Temp is 71C, aggressive fan curve.  BUT!!!  There is a 2080TI sitting under it Folding also so it is running hotter than a single card would.  At this moment it is getting 6.3Million PPD

    How much does the 2080Ti get?
    Also, can you try lowering the wattage to maybe 75%, to see how much PPD it would get? (with or without Overclock).

    Looks odd to me.
    Before CUDA I was able to attain 4.4M PPD on a 2080Ti, using only 220W.
    I'm a bit disappointed, it appears to me that the 3080 is less efficient than the 2080Ti.
    Perhaps adjusting the power curve, and setting a mild overclock might increase performance?

    I'm just disappointed,
    If I'm giving extra credit to the 3080, <5.5 M PPD at +300 Watts, vs < 4 M PPD at <220W,
    The 2080Ti does a better job.

    Yes, benchmarks show the 3080 at 1080 era efficiency levels.

    By the numbers you posted, the 3080 is slightly more efficient though?
    3080 = 5.5M PPD / 300W = 18333 PPD/W
    2080TI = 4M / 220 = 18181 PPD/W

    My 3080 is pulling about 315W, running at 2085 Mhz for reference.  Can't really say what the PPD might be if I left it alone, this is also my gaming rig.  The one day that I was gone all day I got 5.3M though.  I haven't set any flags or done any tweaks, it's just running Covid19 WUs.  They estimate between 4.3 and 6.8M PPD depending on the project.  If I was going for PPD efficiency I'd turn off the RGB, undervolt, and let it run at 1950 or so.

    Got my 3080 FTW3 Ultra yesterday.
    I undervolted it to 900mV @1920MHz and I'm seeing 5.5M PPD (Edit: Averaging 5.1M PPD over last 3 days @ 1905MHz) @ 260W board draw according to GPU-Z
    I'll probably try to get it down to 850mV or bump the clock speed when I have more time to tweak it.

    my actual fastest pre-cuda score on a 2080Ti was 4.4M ppd at 220W. That's with an overclock, and on Linux, in a PCIE 3.0 x8 slot.
