Not true. If you got notification, you can fill another one for same sku. But doesn't change anything because of line moving speed...

So it's one SKU per order and you can have multiple orders say if the queue hit your first position, you could sign up for a notify on the same SKU? Interesting, but doesn't matter realistically as your latter point is valid.

Not true, I say. (I am probably bingeing too much "The Last Kingdom" at this point.)  Folks have purchased the Kingpin through the queue and then requeued to get a second Kingpin...only to be turned away from EVGA even though their name came a second time through the queue.

Hey, just dropping in to say that I, too, appreciate the thread and daily updates -- and yes, the daily musings as well. I'm too slow for the bots and too unlucky for the shuffle, and both are a little overpriced and feel a little degrading. The wait isn't easy, but refreshing the Google Doc makes it bearable, even when my preferred SKU shows up in pink by noon and, sadly, not in bold by midnight.

So, thank you.

Thanks for the kind words; they are appreciated.  And, I share your turtle-like reflexes with the F5 and bot battle.  Have a great night.

Just wanted to post a thank you to those that used my Rewards or Affiliate Code over the last few days, I've been kind of light on the forum side.
Had to put the family's younger dog to sleep yesterday due to kidney failure, still processing that because it's quite a shock she's gone.  She was only 7, which for her mix of breeds is far too young, she was a sweetheart who loved snuggles & attention just as much as barking at birds.

Stay safe out there folks, and remember to cherish the loved ones you have while they're still around, because you never know when they might be gone.

First comment. I feel your pain. I lost my AMSTAFF 6 1/2 years. Then I lost my father not long after. Both were my best friends. It's a hell of a loss just w/ the pup.

I've been following this thread since Sept. I'm 9/25 at like 6:00 a.m. for 3897 and all other 3080'S. You guys/gals are great for keeping up on the queue.

Thank you for everything you do.

Just another note for enewt -

Thank you for your updates and all you put into them. Writing is hard and emotional work and we have followed the ups and downs with you mate. It's what makes this a community.
I'm from Australia and also in a queue over here. It is a local supplier queue so nothing to do with these queues here. I stumbled on this thread and thought it might give me some insight into the overall supply chain for evga.
So I don't have a lot of reason to read the google doc, but your regular commentary makes me feel part of something and keeps me coming back.
Thanks enewt, you're a bloody legend

@enewt I also still check your updates every day. Thank you very much for all you've done here. I would probably have given up without them. That said, if you feel like it, you can retire anytime you want. You've already gone above and beyond.

Idk why evga is getting hate for offering consumers a better method to get a card over bots/scalpers. They have to keep retailers and system integrators happy so they cannot just devote all of their stock to the notification. I am still far off in queue but I have had no luck with Best Buy or Newegg shuffle.

edit: System integrators not oem.

I think people are just frustrated and discouraged by the utter lack of progress on some SKUs. I mean it's closing in on 6 months with virtually no movement at all on my top 3 SKUs, because I poorly choose based on my budget rather than the profitability of the card for EVGA. That I CAN blame EVGA for, we are a smaller bit of the population, but it is totally clear that those that have the budget for higher end cards are superior in the eyes of EVGA.

If EVGA is guilty of anything, it's having too many SKUs, many of which they do not have any intention of making.  They could have simply said "We fully intended to make SKU XYZ, but due to circumstances beyond our control, we have decided to focus on other SKUs".  Then, providing some sort of option to be folded into a "live" queue of the customers choosing.  It would hopefully solve 90% of the bad feelings here.  Right or wrong, you cannot fault a for-profit company that focuses resources towards higher margin products, happens all the time.

As Kevin Nealon said in Joe Dirt (paraphrasing) "Maybe one day Unicef will get into the graphics card business, until then, we're the guys to see".

With shortages across every industry, all companies are maximizing profits on what little they can produce.  Taking that personally is not logical.
Hope we see a nice 3060/3060 Ti drop today, as those are the queues I'm probably closest in.  Or a drop of a couple hundred Kingpins would be nice.

Everyone is frustrated unless ya got your card already lol.

It is unlikely EVGA knew exactly how Nvidia would handle the demand. If they believed nvidia would be increasing supply I could see why they chose to release so many skus.
It has nothing to do with who they believe is superior. From a business decision, it makes sense given limited supply they will prioritize higher margin skus since they said they would honor pricing till April 16th. The point of a business is to make a profit for the owners of the business and absorbing a 25% hit from tariffs for 4 months of website sales is a pretty penny worth of missed profits. If they do something that hurts them financially in order to benefit their customers, it should be considered a good thing instead of them simply not doing enough. Especially when their competitors are coming closer and closer to moving their pricing to the current market price.

None of this takes into account cost of materials and tooling for lower end skus.
Its just an unfortunate series of issues that culminates in lower end skus being produced less bc of current market events.

I think part of the problem here is the manufacturing quality.  I recall seeing reports back in September that quality was being binned out at 'OK' - 30%, 'Good' - 60%, 'Great' - 10%.  Assuming they are using the 'OK' chips for the lower end (less OC'd) chips, they may simply not be able to make enough to fulfill pre-existing contracts and also drop cards in the queue.  Plus, if it was 30/60/10 in September, that's possibly gotten skewed more to good and great by now.  If they have chips that do OC better and can go in higher margin cards, why would they put them in cards they sell for less?  I'm just guessing on this, and I know it doesn't make it suck less.  As a comparison to other industries, it's not like a jeweler is going to put clarity D diamonds in earrings marketed as clarity G and sold at clarity G prices just to meet demand for those earrings, ya know?

And I think the whole thing could be made a lot better if this came directly from EVGA and/or nVidia, however all this is rumor from an article, written by a person that knows a person that overheard.... you get the idea. All I would ask is honesty and transparency from EVGA to their obviously loyal customers (or hope to be customers someday).  It's far too late for me to switch queues, at this point my hope is that in a few months the 3080 TIs come out, and I can get in with in the first few minutes of that. Then maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to actually buy a card.

If ya enter other queues now ya might be able to do the step up when the 3080 ti arrives lol. I don't think they will be releasing it anytime soon.

As you might notice from my sig, I have entered a bunch of other queues, but a looooong way off on all of them.

This is what I literally spent weeks banging my drum over in 2020 (still waiting on my 9/17 3881...) and received bupkis from EVGA about, right here in this forum.  Nice to see others are still banging about looking for a response, even though I had to focus on RL obligations for a spell.

EVGA really needs to issue some sort of statement about this, if even just to acknowledge the problem.  Those who signed up for the SKUs during launch day still haven't been notified, and a large price jump is looming due to EVGA's continued focus on high-margin and newer SKUs over the original launch cards and associated signups; the 3881 SKU alone has effectively jumped 13% in retail price since launch due to the expiration of discounts and additional tariffs, and EVGA remains silent.  Meanwhile, 3897 and 3898 have seen movement well beyond the launch window for each card, indicating EVGA is still prioritizing their stock over others.

I don't think anyone is ignorant of the global semiconductor shortage, COVID shipping delays, or imposition of Trump-era tariffs on GPUs, but EVGA's silence is no less insulting now than it was last year.  Seriously, just say something, and give those impacted an option/alternative that might net them a GPU sooner or at the original price they committed to.  Myself and others have offered potential compromises in the past (so I won't retread those here), but this continued silence is insulting.

10 SKUs "launched" on 9/16, three of which have queues that still haven't even reached the 9/17 release date.  EVGA: where are the 3881, 3883, and 3895?

So I am wondering about this magical solution that EVGA has, the "queue" system they have, in essence I think its great !! but something does not make sense to me :

Basically anyone that clicks the "notify" button for their card, gets a reservation in a queue, and when your turn comes you get a window to purchase the card, right ?!

So where does BestBuy sit on the queue ?

I have seen the EVGA cards go in and out of stock at BestBuy many times, so obviously they are getting hold of these cards somehow, to further sell them. and they always are sold out before you even get a chance to add it to your cart, I'm assuming bots.

I would be interested to understand how BestBuy might have a priority access to the cards from EVGA that us users, the EVGA direct loyal end users, are struggling to get hold of ?
