Isn't this a terrible state of affairs when the company's that make these chips, graphics cards get it so wrong. If they thought their products are the best why the shortfall in production. Corporate greed springs to mind. As i said previous nobody wants a warehouse now. Only on-time delivery's so they have a sale before paying for the product. Same as the company's that make the product it seems.  How is the profit margins looking now as you have no product to sell. If only the graphic card company's had though outside of the box and created a card specific to the Mining community maybe that would have helped at this time. But that would have meant not just ticking a corporate box. Dear god what a absolute race to the bottom.

Well if a 200 dollar chip makes a 25 dollar profit for NVida and you have 10 unsellable chips when all is said and done you are stuck 1750 in cost.
If you made 20 less chips you lose 10 x 25 profit or 250 loss of profit and you saved 20 x 175 = 3500 in cost to build
SO it always pushes to low inventory as the safer choice.

This means a loss for consumers not the company. So it is flawed in favor of the builder of chips. I have no real solution for this. But I have seen it get worse and worse over the last 20 years time. So the consumer get hurt here bigly as this is not going away for months to come.

Does anyone remember when Western Digital's factory flood and hdd prices went up in price 3x. I do. I had 2x 24 count boxes of hdds coming to me from the factory they were shipping via UPS and 1 day out the flood happened. WD let them finish shipping and the value of them went from 4800 to 13800 overnight.
A bit different then what is happening here.

So no movement for my cards.  yesterday.

the kingpin is about 95 away.
the 3060ti 3663 is about 90 minutes away
the 3060ti 3667 is about 90 minutes away
the 3080 3888 is about 6 hours away.

I think we will get no cards next week due to the feb 12- feb 26 lunar New Years .

While there is a rule where one participant leaves a request for 10 types of cards , as well as for "sister" "nephew" "grandfather" "grandmother" and other housemates in the amount of 10 for each,as a result of about 100 cards , then to sell ebay x2 or x3 of the price, and many players can only hope for the 4th series in the distant future. The system was created with a vulnerability, who managed to take advantage - that's good.

We shouldn't see a dead stop from IF Lunar New Year actually meant all production halted, until around 3-4 weeks from now, it takes about that long for a card to go from where it starts, to where it's made, to where it can be sent out to us via the queue.

I'll give you a realistic answer, you will wait a long time. Maybe next year.
Some of the SKUs are moving faster than others such as the 3090s/KPE but everything else, if you didn't enter in the first few days for the 3080s/3070s/3060Ti - You will wait a long time.

The 3060s that got released 2 days ago, might not be as huge but you're still gonna wait few months now.

enewtAs of 4:45 pm PT Friday afternoon, February 26, this is the status of the North American queues (bolded font represents movement from the morning of Friday, February 26; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of movement from the prior report):

Do you have snapshots of this data? I want to make a chart to see how line rate changes over time. Is it slow down or is it speed up.

I definitely agree that from a corporate, logistical point of view, keeping low stock IS the smart and least risky option. However, you would think that in a situation like this (that has been ongoing for months now), they would just try to pump out product without concern about not being able to sell. I get maybe they could be unsure for the first launch but by now, there’s no way any corporate leadership member thinks they need to play it safe. They could make a million cards a day and they would all sell in the current environment. You’d think they’d max at least for a little bit and maybe eventually ramp it down, but who knows what’s really happening.

Also, I feel bad laughing every time I see a “new member here, I just registered, how long until I get my card?? Soon??” I know they don’t know any better, but you think they’d at least read back through a page or two before commenting. Like that one absolute legend who went back to literal first page and then was responding without context to a thread that was five months removed 🤣

It seems like pretty linear movement, tbh (at least for most cards), but it’s hard to tell what’s going to happen in the future.

Are we through the launch day sign ups? Or is it still going to be faster to get cards through retail luck? I mean it makes sense to keep trying all avenues for cards in the current situation but I really want to keep with eVGA (upgrading from a 1080Ti FTW).

On the GPUs being actively produced in numbers we're already seeing an acceleration of the queue.  The 3897 moved something like 8 hours this week.  The next big bottleneck will be on 10/5 for the 3080 series cards - when EVGA announced the queue.  For the cards launched after the auto-notify became a notify queue, it's going to be slow, slow, slow.

This.

Also --although it would be a painful process and I do not recommend it -- the historical record is mostly preserved in the pages of this thread (most morning summaries are in the 8 am PT hour, evening summary post times vary and I would ignore them for your exercise as they will be mostly duplicative).  And past volumes and cadences do not guarantee a similar future.  Also, with the periodic introduction of new cards, the data has a tremendous number of variables which would, I am afraid, make it an exercise in futulity.

Yeah I’m well aware of that useless post. I guess I should have ended my last post with a “/S”

So with my new Ryzen cpu, I hit about 50% utilization on TM for COD Cold war where as before it was closer to maxing out my 8600k at 5gh lol
Edit, lets see what CP 2077 does ...

im looking forward to the new concepts of CPUs where they are treating them like mobile chips where they have two-four dedicated cores for system processes, and then the rest are for programs that require heavy loads. traditionally core 1 has been the most used core on all processors. more cores is definitely better.

They say to not pay scalper prices, but I'm in mid-December and black Friday with my queue. Missed every drop after 6 hours of no lifing my screen yesterday. I can't even locate a bot to compete with the scalpers. I can't do this anymore. I've been broken. Half a year of missing drops now despite my absolute best efforts, and all for nothing. Entirely wasted time. This is beyond words the single-handedly worst launch I've ever witnessed and unfortunately needed to be apart of for both school and work. I'll keep my pre-orders, but I don't expect them to be fulfilled for another year if ever.

I'm paying to get scalped. Thanks, NVIDIA, as always, for not giving a crap about the consumer base and despite being one of the most valued tech companies in existence, not having the foresight to see ANY of this coming. I did, in fact, I called that it'd happen in August. Unreal leadership and market analysts. I mean seriously, imagine having access to the best human resources and still failing this miserably. At the end of the day, they always win, we get stuffed, and then thank them for it.

Hopefully, EVGA can remedy the situation as best they can by actually fulfilling pre-orders as quickly as possible. That's my only extremely faint amount of hope left at this point.
