Good luck on the drops today everyone, and remember the basics: - Associates Code gets you a discount (3% off GPUs, up to 10% off other products on eVGA.com, several people have Associates Code links in their signatures)
- When registering your card (after you receive it), use an eVGA Rewards Code when registering, it gives the person who's code you use 2 free eVGA Bucks; consider looking through the thread for someone that has one listed & has not gotten their GPU yet - it's not much, but it's something
- Hybrid card tube length is 400mm and should be mounted as exhaust whenever possible to avoid feeding your system lava air as intake
- if you purchase a card elsewhere, don't remove your notifies until you receive it, just to be on the safe side
- PSU recommendations are 750-850W Minimum for a 3080, 850-1000W for a 3090 if you want to be on the "safe" side
- Lastly, Kingpin fan cords are only 6" long, and the stock fans are garbage, you should plan on replacing them
As for the step-up question, if the 3080 is discontinued before your Step Up happens, there is no guarantee you will get an equivalent, that's not how the system works from what I understand.

You know how they say you always get injured when you're least expecting to in terms of lifting stuff etc? Yeah, just happened to me. Don't know what I did to my back but youch, just putting a fresh bag of wood pellets in to one of the house's stoves and now it hurts to do pretty much everything/anything.
Hopefully some sleep and ibuprofen will do the trick, roads are icy/snowy so there's no chance I'm goin' to a doctor today.

Roads in these parts are frozen solid at the moment, our low last night was around -12F before the wind chill & I don't think we're supposed to clear freezing today. But it's unlikely I'll be going anywhere personally, walking sucks right now I can't imagine driving down our messed up road like this, those bumps are unpleasant without any back pain lol mizzer

And it's not the worst I've dealt with, I messed up my back when I was young - but this is way down in the lower lower back so it's one of those "everything you do makes it hurt" areas of pain. Trying to avoid taking anything stiffer than Ibuprofen, but it looks like I may not have a choice if I want to get some decent rest at least. Tried doing the old chiropractor "lay flat & twist your knees to each side all the way" pop one's back thing, didn't work unfortunately. Oddly, that motion doesn't cause severe pain spikes like almost everything else does - I think that's a good thing? lol

some stats on mining hash rates. https://etherscan.io/chart/hashrate I used just 100 mh hash 3080's to show the demand issue. Sept 30 253th that is about 2,530,000 nvidia 3080's eth was paying 3 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 3 usd prior to power cost. Oct 30 262th. that is about 2,620,000 nvidia 3080's eth was paying 4 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 4 usd prior to power cost. Nov 30 288th. that is about 2,881,830 nvidia 3080's eth was paying 5 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 5 usd prior to power cost. Dec 30 289th that is about the same eth was earning about 6 or 7 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 6-7 usd prior to power cost. Jan 30 344th about 3,440,000 nvidia 3080's ETH was earning about 10 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 10 bucks prior to power cost. Feb 14 397th. about 3,970,000 nvidia 3080's Eths is earning about 12 cents an mh a 3080 would earn 12 bucks prior to power cost. So it looks like miners grabbed cards early in sept and oct and nov but no hash growth from nov to dec means not many cards available and super growth in dec to jan to now certainly looks like asic gear and big money farms. So it is likely nvidia and amd are directly selling to large buyers that are using chips in custom boards. Along with asic gear getting built. I think we see not much in the way of cards. I have yet to see if newegg is doing a shuffle today.

And it's not the worst I've dealt with, I messed up my back when I was young - but this is way down in the lower lower back so it's one of those "everything you do makes it hurt" areas of pain. Trying to avoid taking anything stiffer than Ibuprofen, but it looks like I may not have a choice if I want to get some decent rest at least.
Tried doing the old chiropractor "lay flat & twist your knees to each side all the way" pop one's back thing, didn't work unfortunately. Oddly, that motion doesn't cause severe pain spikes like almost everything else does - I think that's a good thing? lol
You might try visiting a Chiropractor then? Nearly cured me of my pack pain a couple of years ago after I messed it up bad lifting something way heavier than I should have. Hurt like heck when he popped the vertebra back in place, but I have been so much better since. I wish I had done it a lot sooner.

Between that and what little is remaining mostly picked up by scalpers how the hell are we supposed to have a goddamn way to upgrade our PCs from now on?? The state of the world is so messed up and keeps getting worse every year it seems, without any end in sight...

Only issues is that UPS is not actually taking signatures during the pandemic. They will make sure someone is home but that is about it. That is what UPS told me and is what happened when I added it to my EVGA order recently.

I had a Notice for a 1000w PSU.
The power supply became available and I didn't received any email from EVGA.
I don't know if its the case, but anyway. Just inform this happened.

That's good, back pain isn't fun. Hopefully the weather will clear up this weekend, at least in my parts it's supposed too. Gotta love the midwest; 3 degrees F at the beginning of the week, 33 degrees F by the end.
