I am hopeful the 28th brings good news for all of us. Ideally AMD will have a solid launch and a competitive product. This will reduce some burden on Nvidia's supply chain as potential Nvidia customers will buy AMD cards. It will also force Nvidia to invest more in R&D (which they should easily be able to do with all of the sales over the recent years to AI, vehicle manufacturers, and crypto currency customers which did not exist to this level 10 years ago) and future products should hopefully show greater generational improvements than the current status quo. I am also hoping Nvidia will be forced to recognize how much revenue they lost out on by not having more inventory available prior to the AMD launch, which will force them to invest more in supply for the next releases as well.

If you signed up any time after September at all...I'd say you're not getting an email until late December - January at the absolute earliest. Not unless there's a sudden huge influx of cards coming soon.

It's been three weeks since this was implemented and we are not past day 1 on any of the 3080 cards, please tell me there is no supply issue again? As much as I like evga and want to wait we need to know how long at this point as the Radeons are looking mighty nice right about now. Also please stop sending these cards to NE for random snipers to catch, better utilized to move through the queue here.
Yeah, unfortunately in a business world, you don't just tell your resellers to get bent and they can't have stock. That's just not how these things work. lol
Also New Egg (and all e tailers for that matter) don't care that their cards are going to bots. The money is all green either way. Just like how eBay is never going to stop people from scalping. They get a cut off of the sales. They don't care either.
That's in part why I don't shop at Newegg anymore. Maybe if enough people did the same, Newegg might rethink their utter lack of principles, but I doubt it, they've been going downhill for a few years now.

seriously thinking of buying elsewhere this time around.
I've been trying to get a card from anywhere. Every time there is a stock drop on amazon, newegg, bestbuy, extra, I try to buy. Most of the time they're completely gone before the page loads. One in a while, I get a buy button that doesn't work. 1 times, I got a card into the cart, but was taken out before I could buy. I'm talking about 100+ stock drops with no success. I much prefer evga's approach, a line is better than that alternative. Even if I'm 1,278,000 in line. The TL;DR trying to get a card anywhere is crazy. Mean while... - I keep watching the reviews as they come out to see if there is a better model, brand.

I do wonder if the 3090 will be beaten quickly in 2021 with the revised 3080 with a move to 7nm and improve yields. My guess is it will. I still am getting the 3090 but I wish nvidia did a better job being transparent in their marketing. My current rig I built has ftw3 nvlink 2080Tis. While I always disagreed that the 2080Ti wasn’t worth it, I definitely think two of them wasn’t worth it. There was so much potential there to really enjoy the rtx features with NVlink and it is a bummer it had zero support outside of shadow of the tomb raider. I easily could have gotten the max experience from metro exodus had it been implemented like the previous metro games. It was heavily marketed to support nvlink by nvidia for gaming and it just wasn’t. But as a single card, the 2080ti allowed early access to rtx features, a price for early adoption I will always pay. And in time that lead grew with driver support over the old 1080ti. The 3080 is about 25% more powerful than the 2080ti and while cost is much cheaper, those who bought the 2080ti could realistically skip this entire generation which further adds return on investment. I like the bleeding edge so that doesn’t apply to me. But I’m now on a tangent and off topic. End rant. Lol
