Ive been less than a day away on 3 cards now for what seems like at least 4 months for 2 of the three. Every time a new card launched production on the ones I was near just vanishes.

So finally I get the notification from the newegg shuffle that I can order the Zotac gaming 3080.  Now running the games is flawless at 4K but I am back to having a noisy hot card.  Now it is not that the card is bad, it isn't more noisy or more hot (sits at 80 degrees C) than the average GPU it just isn't the super cool super quiet gaming trio x.

2070 to 3080 is a jump but not a huge jump so I could see questioning the value proposition (especially in 2021 post price increases).  The 3080 is a hot overtuned card so you might want to see about running Afterburner and undervolting it a bit.  In fact, many people report that they get better performance after undervolting since the card isn't constantly thermal throttling and dropping way down before ramping back up and doing it again.
 
If worse comes to worse, it should be trivial to offload a new 3080 for what you paid (or more, I'm not gonna judge) so you have multiple options.

That was a sad morning. Got logged out of my laptop and had zero chance of logging back in with all the slowdowns so I had to rely on my phone which obviously did not help very much. Hoping my 6:44 slot for the 3070 ti ftw comes through before mid July so I can use my 30% coupon on it.

Very likely. Hopefully within the next few weeks, maybe mid-July (barring any typical queue shenanigans).

That would be something if I get a Hybrid Ti and KPE on the same day and still waiting on the original 3080 from Sept 23, LOL

I agree these thread has too many unrelated posts, long stories and irrelevant info. Can we just keep it to time stamps when you receive the notification? So that way we are actually informed if the line moved and we don’t have to scrub through 10 pages to find the movement of the day?

Enewt does a nightly round up with any reported movement.  Go check for it if you don't like reading the thread itself.  You could probably bookmark his profile and check for recent posts to find it easily enough.

It sounds like we will have some decent drops tomorrow. Also, for non-Elites, the 3070 Ti XC3 Ultra and 3080 Ti Ultra HC become available for queuing at 9 am PT...enjoy...?!?

Visualized as the line for a drive-thru fast-food establishment in Los Angeles: the tail of the queue is in Key West; you are in Detroit; they serve 3-8 customers a day.

Ouch! I pretty much forgot that the queue was a thing until this month. I was hoping for things to normalize by now, but realizing they haven’t I decided to queue up.
