Last FIVE days I dropped:
from 575 to 681 spot RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA
from 270 to 347 spot RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA
So every day I am sinking instead climbing.
Leaning to go on ebay and burn $$ an pay double price just because I didn't push notify me button the very first hour on launch day.

You have actually made up ground. We are 150 spots or more through the list for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra.... Please try to hold the line against paying the ebay scalpers...without knowing your circumstances (you may need it for a job, etc.), as a community we are trying to do the right thing. The more of us that continue to act collectively the less likely the scalpers will find their effort worthwhile.

Right, right. Sure he is. The guy so desperate for a card and tired of waiting now that we're over a month after release that he'll spend whatever...he's the problem. Not Nvidia for deciding to use Samsung knowing their completely abysmal yields and knowing full well they would have no shot in hell of meeting demand. Nah, they're not the problem. That guy is. You can believe their crap story of "we had no idea demand would be so large blah blah" all you want. They're not a multi billion dollar company because they have no insight into the demands of their products. They just made completely stupid decisions the whole way. Period. Then decided to roll with it just so they could get ahead of AMD.

So I'm wondering, once the 3070s launch isn't there some probability that 3080 production slows down further? I have no no idea how EVGA manufactures cards, but logically adding additional skus should mean thin production capacity spread over even more cards. Seeing that 3070 demand should be much higher than 3080, and EVGA already has trouble producing all of their current skus (the xc3 variants mostly), we may be seeing the queue moving even slower going forward. Or is this not how it works?

Naah, focking Nvidia is a problem. After FIVE WEEKS I got sick and tired of hunting a card. I wasted 2-3 hours a day at least. I am here just because EVGA is something else. If Nvidia announced officially that have chips for paper launch only, I wouldn't wasted so much time. In fact my wage is fairly good so wasted time cost me at least four cards. So paying double to scalpers is much better deal than lose more than four times waiting fricking nvidia. Capisco?

In the grand scheme of things, people re selling cards makes up for a teeny tiny amount of cards in all. If you added all those cards back into the pool and they went to people who weren't going to resell them - it would do absolutely nothing to help the situation we're still in: no cards to buy still.

Yea people like this just feed scalpers. That being said though, it would be nice if everyone was clear that the spreadsheet is not an accurate representation of when you will get a card. It's a rough idea, nothing more. But everyone who's pointed out just how inaccurate that reddit spreadsheet is, has been lashed out at for being a "hater" against it and not liking that people are using it. In a post yesterday I mentioned this very situation... q5sys
I'm not against the idea of it in general. But I think people aught to understand just how unreliable it is. At best, It can give you a general rough idea of where you are, at worse it'll be a disappointment as more and more people fill it out and people see themselves getting pushed further and further back in the list.
I don't want people to think its a reliable list and that they can bank on it being reliable... because it's not.
There's nothing wrong with the spreadsheet, but for the benefit of everyone... we all need to be clear on the messaging that its not accurate and should only be used as an rough guide. Otherwise we will end up with more and more people getting frustrated as they think they're a day or two away... for weeks.

The buyers aren't the problem and the scalpers aren't the problem. It's a supply and demand problem created by Nvidia. If you have enough cards to meet demand, there is no market for scalpers. If scalpers disappeared we will still have hundred of thousands if not millions of people without cards that want them a month after release.
Stop shamming people for being tired of waiting and willing to pay a premium.

There's nothing wrong with the spreadsheet, but for the benefit of everyone... we all need to be clear on the messaging that its not accurate and should only be used as an rough guide.
Otherwise we will end up with more and more people getting frustrated as they think they're a day or two away... for weeks.
Totally agree and have tried in my past posts to say that (perhaps not as clearly as you just articulated). But the spreadsheet exists and, given this suboptimal situation, the best we can try to do is to leverage it to provide value to the participants in this thread. Please, only use it as a rough estimate -- nothing more. Its best value to date may be inform us that other than the Ultras very few cards have dropped on the other cards...this may have helped some people decide to continue F5ing storefronts, physically visiting a Microcenter or even considering a secondary sale (rather than just trusting that the queue would help them get a card in a few days). I am not sure about any of this...but I'd prefer to try to light a candle and find utility with what we've got than to simply curse the darkness.
