So this is part 1 of several parts of my 2nd first foray into water cooling. Some of you may remember my first attempt from back in the late 00s. Did not go well so forswore off water....

well breaking that sworn statement. Im having fun and doing it right this time round.

I did have a leak (forgot the 7th hole cover on the rad.... wooo.... covered in cryofuel blood red now XD.

Oh and THANKS EVGA! Absolutely love the false board the x299 dark comes with. One criticism I do have however perhaps for the next board to come with one. cut holes perhaps for the cooling block so you can pre-setup your layout without having to risk your board by just sitting the cooler on it.

Looking good cant wait for the final touches

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Looking forward to see your Tower 900 completed.  I went with the Tower 100 because I don't have enough room for the big boy.

Also posting a pic of the rig my 1070 came from which the rig needs cleaning.

    Specs are as follows:
    Thermaltake 900 snow edition
    i9 10900x (not k)
    EVGA Dark x299
64 gigs of vegence pro rgb (which the rgb part seems to keep failing dunno why)

    2x 2TB PNY NVME 4.0 pcie SSD M.2s
1 1tb Seagate SSHD i had laying around for years still sealed so figured could be my "slow storage" (yes I know the storage typically is bigger lol)
Silver stone 1100 titanium plus 80
Coolermaster 1 to 10 pwm fan hub

    Water Loop Specs:
Alphacool st45 560mm quad rad (140x560) with 6 artic 140mm fans (waiting for the silverstone 140i argb to come in stock to replace and do 8 instead)
    EKWB quantum Velocity nickel/plexi
    EKWB compression fittings
    EKWB Tubing
    EKWB Pump/res combo
EKWB Cryofuel Blood Red (which stained my hands LOL)
Bits power valves for the drain tubes that I presetup for easy drain in two lowest spots for rad and pump

    Externals:
    ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q 34" 21:9 3440x1440 IPS 100Hz G-SYNC
    Razer Huntsman
    Logitech G903

Yours is cleaner than mine... but mine now has a GPU in the loop with 2 rads in it, so there's tubes everywhere mate. lol

Nice build though, simple, neat & clean.

With the new compression fittings they sell instead of hoping zip ties will hold. It works alot better and easier now. And if you are truly worried they make pressure test kits that take 2 hours instead of 24 hours and done dry so no leaks if something is wrong

This - and the way kits are made now, if you do it properly, there's basically no chance of leaks, unless you do what I did on my first assembly of this loop & forget to/fail to tighten a fitting down fully.  This was my first time using 90 degree adapter fittings, and the ones I got that came with the EK kit that I used as the base for my loop are a bit wonky, I thought they were in all the way, they were not.

But that's why ya leak test.

As JayzTwoCents said in his recent beginners guide video, I find that leak testing while also working the bubbles out of the system, as well as letting it run after that, if you don't get a leak within 1-2 hours, it's probably not going to leak, especially if you're on soft-tubing with compression fittings... if you put the tube on all the way, that's not going to leak, and that only leaves fittings not being tight as a possibly place to leak from.  Not saying it's stupid-proof, but it's pretty easy, and I'm someone that hasn't done liquid cooling since LGA 775 was new (that's the last time I did a semi-custom loop).

So many folks running chillers, I'd be too worried about condensation with the high-humidity we get where I live for 6 months out of the year.

One I recoup costs I plan on chilling this 3070

So many folks running chillers, I'd be too worried about condensation with the high-humidity we get where I live for 6 months out of the year.

    Sorry meant standard water cooled.

Btw what's Everyones thoughts on doing a 280mm rad for motherboard components? Or would a single 140mm be plenty?

If you're doing VRMs & chipset as a part of the loop you probably won't even need to add radiator - both of them combined probably only put off about 50W of heat maximum unless you're pushing insanely high OCs on the CPU, even then it wouldn't be more than 70W at most, all it'll do is possibly raise your CPU load temps by 1-2C - not really something worth adding a whole 'nother radiator for...

    - Said the person running a 38mm thick 360mm radiator & a 60mm thick 480mm radiator in push pull for a CPU & GPU only loop. lol
