I think the 2080ti is the way to go since you don't plan to upgrade for a long time. I feel it's worth the extra when you are already talking about buying a 2080 Super to go more top of the line and buy some extra life for the card with it.

That was my thought exactly. I am trying to see if I can swing the FTW3 Ultra or just stick with the XC Ultra. I can't really justify spending much more to get slightly more power or boost clocks and texture fill times. Not sure if i can post this but with New Egg i can get the FTW3 Ultra for almost the same price as an XC Ultra - can I still get the EVGA warranty?

Yeah the FTW3 for $1199 after code and rebate on newegg is a good deal.  The open box XC2 from Amazon is a good deal too, the only thing I worry about with those is they may have been returned for poor OC performance.

+1

Yeah that or cooling not as good as it could be, like bad TIM or a slightly warped cooler.

Can the FTW3 Ultra fit in my case? I have the Meshify C with two 140 Corsair Pro fans. I think I am good length but I saw the card needs 5.48" height space... is that right?!

EVGA cards are not small.
You need to do some research before you buy anything.
Just Google the dimensions, easy.
Height space ?

I think I am idiot. I think the 5.48” wide means if you stand it up on its side. No card is that big while connected

Height = "Above the MB surface" - with the card in the PCIe slot

All FTW3 cards are the Much larger (height) Custom PCB design --> the PCIe power cables --> take even more room than just the card

Did you even read my earlier post? I posted that the XC2 is better then the XC and if you buy the open box/used from Aamzon themselves, you get the full warranty, ability to extend the warranty and advance rma plus you get 90 days to step up if you choose to. The XC2 is a step down from the FTW but cost less. I have no regrets going from the 2080ti FTW3 down to the XC2 because I saved over $120 to use that for something else.

why is the xc2 better? it has lower specs and fill rate?

I should of said XC2 ultra, that's what I bought. This is the thread that helped me choose it over the XC.

Think I am going to go with that over the FTW3 Ultra. I am sure I wont notice a big difference in texture fill rates or boost speeds. Save some money at least!

I personally prefer the straight XC Ultra as it's a reference PCB.  XC2 is close to reference but not exactly.

You're too late on my listing I posted earlier. Those 2 cards that was listed at $1075 are both gone. It seems open box/use cards on Amzon get sold quickly. Your best bet now is the 2080ti FTW3 or keep looking for open box deals.

I am leaning for the FTW3. It is only like $100 more but then again, my mind is like are you going to notice a huge difference between the XC Ultra vs the FTW3.

You will be good with either card.  I have the XC Ultra and it has worked well.  I have had no issues.

we are very close to Nvidia showing off the new 3070, 3080, and 3080ti (hopefully by GDC or shortly after)     I would wait.
while the 2080ti is great; the new 3000 series for 2020 should be really good!     (2000 series came out about Aug-Nov 2018; so we are ready for next gen release)

I think that would be fine.  Even with serious OC on the FTW3 you're only going to probably see a few FPS difference.  It's more about getting that fast factory OC and being able to show off benchmark numbers in most cases.  The biggest reason I went with my 2080 Super FTW3 over an XC/XC2 Ultra or similar was because I was doing a full custom loop and the Hydro Copper FTW3 was basically the same price as me buying a non FTW3 Super and adding a block to it so I figured why not and saved myself the hassle of swapping the cooler for a block at the same time

edit:  Of course a massive FTW3 card in vertical mount with dual 8pin bridged custom PSU cable looks pretty sweet as well though

That's what I am talkin about!!! I am selling my old 1080 for $250 to someone so the 2080 Ti is only going to cost me like $800.

Usage dependent.
2080 Ti 's superiority over 2080S is more significant on 4K than 2K, while both overclocked than both at stock.
But still, the worst 2080 Ti has a TU102, the best 2080 Super cant have more than a TU104.

Yes and no.  The 2080S Tensor cores are at work on BFV @ 1440p 120/144hz for example for an increase in FPS while on the 2080 Ti it doesn't have them enabled since it doesn't need it while still having that extra horsepower on idle but I'm sure in more future demanding games, they will be enabled and the 2080 Ti will still beat a 2080S.  By how much, I'm not sure.

kingpin, you have to go kingpin. its only twice the price of the other cards. lol

if you were thinking HOF then galax or KFA2 but I would stick with EVGA.

Kingpin is nice if you're into benchmarking along with some exotic cooling and or bragging rights.  Other than that, it's overkill for just regular gaming.

just buy RGB. that way you can change them to whatever color you want.

a good teacher will not give you the answer you seek, they will help you learn as to why you had that problem and will guide you to the solution that works for it so you can pass the knowledge on.

i would tell you to go with the 3080 Ti that  would release soon...
but with this worldwide pandemic going on...  i cannot advise that anymore to anyone  'cause i am not sure what will happen with new tech release dates...
no one knows!

i have the 1080 Ti and i can absolutely say i love it!

and altho i am totally against the 2000 gen due to its ridiculous price tag and low performance gain compared to previous gen.. i must admit that  right now...  its the way to go in these uncertain times!

hope you enjoy your new card   as mine shreds anything i throw at it specially at 2560x1400 res
