Need to go to school on display port to HDMI

I just got my new evga gtx 1070 sc  1 DVI 1 HDMI 3 Display ports in my feeble mind I say get an adapter display port to hdmi, I mean the guy on you tube did it and it worked for him. well guess what? yep your right DIDNT WORK FOR ME!!!! So I would like to ask someone to take me to school on HDMI and display port my adaptor is DP 1.2 and I see the card has DP 1.4 here is the adapter I got    is is suppose to support 1.2 / 1.4

    It's really simple to convert DP to HDMI, so you probably got a bad cable. AFAIK all Nvidia cards are dual mode/multimode/DP++ so a passive adapter will work. You can't post links until you have enough posts here so your link did show, try putting spaces in the link so it's not seen as one by the forum sw. The cable should be $10-$20 or so.

    There should be no reason why a DP->HDMI adapter isn't working. Did you get one that supports the HDMI revision you're using? What model and resolution is your display?

    Also if you have 2 HDMI monitors you can hook one up via the HDMI port and the other via the DVI port (with a passive cable or adapter).

    Using DVI->HDMI is a cheaper and a more direct way to drive the second HDMI monitor as everything is done on the card (there's no active or passive components, only wires).
