Hey everyone,
I was tired of waiting for the X299 issues to be sorted out and for the boards to be release so I went ahead and bought a x99 Classy and a 6950X CPU in the meantime.
My main problem is with throttling. I cannot figure out how to stop my CPU from throttling when I stress test. ( or anything else that puts a heavy load on it) I have looked at lots of posts as well as the BIOS guides, but the problem is they are all outdated. I cannot find anything for the latest BIOS version, 2.04.
Currently I'm only going for a 4.2GHz overclock on a very well water cooled setup. I have my TJMax manually set for 83 and I of course have Windows 10 set for High Performance, but even just running the AIDA64 stress test, Windows Task Manager shows the CPU speed throttling down. My temps are in the 40s, so I don't understand why it's trying to throttle. Am I missing something simple in the BIOS settings that could be causing it? Does any one have an OC manual out for BIOS version 2.04?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
