So EVGA has a 4-slot NVLink SLI Bridge for the RTX 3090 and I'm wondering if a 3090 FTW3 Ultra and a 3090 Founders Edition can be bridged or this only works between EVGA cards.
I've heard there might be spacing issues but practically speaking, would the EVGA bridge connect between two 3090 from different makers? Has this been successfully attempted? What are the requirements?

The locations of the sli connector on the card are different for each manufacturer (as far as I know, but definitely different on the FE). You should be able to use any SLI bridge that works on the 30 series, but you can't mix different manufacturer's cards and use the bridge (at the very least between EVGA and FE). It seems they're able to bridge a 3090 FE with a 3090 FTW3 Ultra in that video (even if it's physically complicated to align them).
Does that mean it can only be done with the NVIDIA 30x Bridge featured in the video or would EVGA's bridge work with the FE?

Technically yes, but the cards are different heights so might be challenging to line up the connectors.

I have two EVGA FTW3 Ultra's with the 4-slot EVGA NVLink. I'm trying to learn if various x570 motherboards support this spacing/NVLink config of my two cards? ie. MSI Meg Unify and the new ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero, or maybe a cheaper alternative in the ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 WiFi AX, does that even support NVLink? Thanks for all your help/direction, some basic list of compatible motherboards for dual 3090 NVLink would be a great FAQ, many of the board manufacturers really don't explain it at all and I don't want to get into a try/return cycle for no reason.

GPU manufacturers typically don’t discuss other companies motherboards, because the GPU manufacturers have no control over the manufacturing process and tolerances of a motherboard. For the information you are requesting, you would need to find someone that knows the boards themselves, or you would need to read the motherboards manual to find out if it is certified to support NVlink. Sadly, EVGA will not do AMD motherboard testing for motherboard certification because EVGA is not affiliated with AMD in any way, so would not be able to conduct the test or provide such a list.

I've also asked Jacob via twitter what EVGA boards will work with two x570 FTW3 Ultra cards with nvlink. I ask in general because I'm interested (as I'm sure many are) if I plug a 3090 FTW3 Ultra in a top PCI slot of any given x570 MB, with the NVLink attached to it, question is "Does the next PCI slot line up so that the 2nd 3090 once also installed is spaced exactly how it has to be (ie. not too close or too far) to attach them together?" It's not so much does the board support NVLink, I want to know the spacing of the PCI slots on the board so I can be certain my two 3090s will connect together and it not be a haphazard trial and error experiment and hope someone on Youtube tells us after investing thousands in trial and error for us. Trial and RMA/return error doesn't seem the right way to put $4000 worth of cards in your system.

Confirming dark hero and two 3090 EVGA FTW3 hybrid kit outfitted do not work with nvlink. Would be nice to have a flexible cable solution instead of this fixed 4 slot config considering all motherboard manufacturers are different and the point of EVGA is to make their cards work irrespective of mb slot spacing, that would take out the variability wouldn’t it? I need a pci riser type of solution for the nvlink device I have!

You CAN bridge any 2 3090 cards, the connectors themselves are the same size... the problem is, as is evidenced in some 3090 SLi YouTube Videos, NVidia's boards are not "reference", and thusly "reference" PCB boards vary more than they used to, meaning the POSITION of the NVLink "teeth" on the card may not line up with other models. The only way to prevent this from happening is getting 2 identical cards...
Then you have the second problem, as some have pointed out, motherboard slot spacing, because from what I've seen, NVLink bridges only seem to come in 4-slot varieties for this generation of card.
Keep in mind, SLi is not really supported anymore, it only works in a handful of games, outside of those that explicitly support multi-GPU, and most of those games shouldn't require a bridge to use both GPUs, from what I understand.

They won't ship for about 2 weeks. https://www.exxactcorp.co...0NVLINK-KIT-E153624446 Running SLI with Kingpin and ft3 ultra with riser cables and the kingpin elevated to height of ultra so 4 slot bridge will work. This is all set up outside the pc case. Its a train wreck but it works.
