I know right?  We'll see if the 6900XT actually delivers.  Thing is, the Nivida cards are pretty modular, it doesn't take much to strap a chip with more cores and 12GB on the existing 3080 PCB, assuming that all the extra pads do something.

I have no doubt 6900 competes the real issue is I expect they will have about 20 available world wide of which 15 will be given to reviewers.

Maybe I'm wrong since 6900 was supposed to originally be limited to amd direct sales. But based on their stock of 6800 and 6800xt making the 3080 launch look smooth. I'd say pretty much no one but a bot user is getting a 6900.

X399 Designare EX, Threadripper 1950x, Overkill Water 560mm dual pass radiator. Heatkiller IV Block Dual 960 EVO 500gb Raid 0 bootable, Quad Channel 64gb DDR4 @ 2933/15-16-16-31, RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra, Corsair RM850x, Tower 900

My buddy just got an rx 6800. It's just as fast as my 3080 ftw3 in COD Warzone. I watched some 3080 vs rx 6800 none XT benchmarks and it's kind of embarrassing lol.
Not sure if I should wait for a 3080 ti step up or sell my 3080 and get stuck wating for 6900xt.

Thank you for posting facts. It doesn't hurt sharing this type of information.

Turns out my buddyvwith the 6800 none XT was running the game at 1080p. I was on to him after he posted a screenshot lol. He also has all kinds of tweaks done. We both took a screen shot at 1140p and I got 20 fps more then him. I'm sure he cheated in some other ways too.

This is why I only trust 3DMark scores.  Too easy to cheat game benchmarks by adjusting game and driver settings.

Personally, I’m far more likely to buy a 3080 Ti than anything else. I embrace both competition and innovation in this industry. Nvidia RTX and DLSS > AMD’s raw power but amplifying Nvidia’s hardware will make the software gap between the two brands more prevalent.

I'm with you on that one. It will be January before the Hydrocopper models come out, and given the size of current 3080 waitlists there may be 3080 Ti's already introduced before it becomes possible to buy a 3080 Hydrocopper anyway. I don't even have to worry about waiting because it's out of my hands for 2-3 months.

No kidding. When TSMC finishes supplying Apple, Sony, and Microsoft’s hardware in Q2, all of these CPUs and GPUs will be on shelves. 30anything would be wonderful at this point if not 60 days too late. It’s an objectively impressive leap in tech but a step backward since fall 2021 will bring new chip sockets.

On another note, ampere is far more capable and we are basically beta testing Nvidia’s commercial scaling at our own expense. The fact that we have 1-3 fiscal quarters to revel in our glory before it’s obsolete becomes questionable lifecycle management. Please see reference.

Edit: I can’t hyperlink... Look up Ampere A100 80GB or the near future of quadro...

TSMC has what, 16 fabs so it's not like orders cannot be done in parallel. Samsung has a bunch as well as SK Hynix.

Yes there will be a CES 2021, but it will be online-only. May actually make it easier for people to join in and view specific products they're interested in depending on how it is arranged.

I have been waiting for the 3090 K|NGP|N HC edition, but the main reason I was even looking at RTX 3090's was for the extra VRAM needed to run larger AI/ML workloads, and if I can get 20GB of VRAM for significantly less money than a 3090, then there's a good chance that's the way I'll go.

I would love a 3080 Ti but I hope I don’t have to wait that long for a new GPU like the 3080/3090/6800 XT/6900 XT.

There is not a big performance gap between 3090 and 3080, so the only good reason to choose the Ti version is the amount of memory IMO.
For those who want the best of the best without looking at performance to price ratio will still choose 3090.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3060 & RTX 3050 Graphics Cards Submitted To EEC By MANLI

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3060 & RTX 3050 graphics cards have been spotted at EEC which were submitted by MANLI and spotted by Komachi. The four graphics cards are expected to launch in January 2021 with the Ti variants offering improved specifications over the existing non-TI variants and the RTX 3060, 3050 bringing more mainstream budget options to consumers.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 'Rumored' Graphics Card Specifications
Just like the GeForce RTX 3060, the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti will also be featuring the GA106 GPU but a cut-down GA106-300 configuration. The card is expected to be based on the PG190 SKU 60 board which is different than the 40/50 variant that the RTX 3060 will utilize. The GPU is expected to come with 3584 FP32 cores in a total of 28 SM units.

Guess it would depend on the performance and price as to what people go for. If the 3080 to 3080Ti is a big price increase with little gain then it could be good to get the 3080 stock back as scalpers rush to the new product launch.

I think the release is just a matter of time. The disparity between the 10GB ram on the RTX 3080 and 24GB ram on the RTX 3090 needs to be corrected. I think AMD did very well with their 16GB memory size on their 6800XT and 6900XT cards

Yeah, launching a future product in the past would be difficult.
