This might be a rumor only so take this article with a grain of salt: https://www.techquila.co.in/nvidia-stockpiling-million-gpu/ So the article believes that NVIDIA has a huge stock pile of next gen GPUs ready but are probably releasing late or even later in the year due to a build up of existing GPU stock.

Of course nVidia has a stockpile of the next series cards, these cards where originally supposed to be in our hands this month. We'll see if nVidia shoots themselves in the foot by holding off launching these cards to later this year.

Scalpers and miners created this mess. Anyhoo.........someone's going to show up and decry my comments or maybe they're just angry scalpers too. I see scalpers with different accounts but could be the same person, who knows but purchased several EVGA waterblocks and AIO kits for the EVGA 1080 Ti. Looks like they'll be stuck with them for quite a while. (SHOVEL IT!)

I can't delay GPU upgrade any more. I delay platform upgrade until 2020 and DDR5 in favor of Monitor and PC Case and M.2 1TB.

being cynical, i suspect the stockpile will add to the pile of leftover pascal chips maybe its time to shake out the sector and get rid of the gouging the sector has been indulging for years motherboards are cheap and so are processors, video cards are more than double the cost of a motherboard, RAM and CPU
Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition + Corsair AX1600i PSUMy desktop uses the ThinkVision 31.5 inch P32p-20 Monitor. My sound system is the Edifier B1700BT

Curious, knowing the next gen cards are around the corner, what price would entice you to purchase a GTX 1080 Ti right now?

Me, too. I'm pretty close to retiring my Titan Blacks and upgrading to a single next gen GPU.

$450, that's the only thing that would entice me. I've been tempted by all these bundles that have been being offered WITH a gpu while being only the MSRP of the card alone, but I know next gen is right around the corner. While stepup would be nice, you can't gamble with that really. I bought a 980TI and was outside of my stepup window by 10 days when the 1080s released finally. Not doing that again haha

I was thinking $500, but it's a hard choice to make with that much money. Just add to your amount until the next series comes out. Yeah I would not count on Step Up with the news we are getting on nVidia holding back the next series because of a overstock of the current series. nVidia keeps that thinking and we may not see the next series until next year lol.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of kram. I was really hoping the 11 series would be out by the end of Sept. honestly. If they aren't, they're likely legit holding back for no reason other than to try and sell more 10 series first. Can't blame them from a business standpoint, but I hate it regardless haha

That moment when people are actually happy Nvidia is holding back and attempting to price fix. 2018 is one weird animal.

What? I do not see a single post in this thread stating such a thing. Where did you get that from?

I thought the CEO said the next gen isn't coming out until 2019, the only thing coming out this year is mobile and low-end refresh chips? edit: Oh wait, that was Intel, not NVidia, my bad.
