These past few weeks we’ve been sharing numerous videos from games that were visually improved by Pascal Gilcher’s Ray Tracing Reshade. However, all of the users that have been testing this experimental version of ReShade were using mid-range GPUs. Thankfully, YouTube’s ‘4K Video Source’ has shared a video showing Crysis 3 with this Reshade Ray Tracing/Path Tracing mod running on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080.

So yes, despite its alpha state and the fact that Reshade cannot offer proper ray tracing effects (as it only uses depth information available in screen space in order to provide these “path tracing” effects), it can still improve the visuals of modern-day games,
Obviously, the performance hit of this Reshade Ray Tracing mod is quite high and most users will not be able to use it, however, it will at least give us an option to replay current titles when more powerful GPUs will be available on the market. Basically, this is a win-win situation as it is completely optional (it’s up to you to decide whether you will replay your older games with it). Not only that, but the Path Tracing settings can be adjusted to your liking, meaning that you can decrease the amount of the additional ambient occlusion effects that are being introduced by it.

It does look good but I have to wonder if the game was made for ray tracing in the first place if they would have used more light sources. Having it enabled does make some of it look really dark and I think it's that it's only able to use light sources that are in frame.

People who need graphic card urgently just need to wait EVGA RTX2080 Super.
But I would not maybe even wait. Price of RTX2080 XC Hybrid is 689$.
That's price I like to see for graphic cards, but not RTX2070.
OK I say before, I'm ready with tear in eyes to say goodbye to RTX2080Ti beast.... but not even to RTX2080.
That's lowest possible for my gaming, without so powerful card I have no any more reason to stay on PC.
I would bought PS4 Pro and connect to 4K TV and that's it.

It's good because price is not any more 900$+....
Difference between RTX2080 and RTX2080 Super is not so big to customers insist on RTX2080 Super if price of some better and more expensive model with Hybrid cooling or Hydro Copper block is similar to air cooled RTX2080 Super.

This is now completely different situation...
EVGA RTX2080 FTW Hydro Copper 799$.
Clock is 1860MHz... and it's nice difference from cheapest Black Edition model with 1710MHz clock.
Most attractive RTX2080... Off course everyone will chase Super but FTW Hydro Copper is same performance as basic RTX2080 Super.

But again if I sell Poseidon I need to add too much money for her. Yes FTW is better, faster then Poseidon without doubt close to 10%, plus full cover waterblock but we talk about 250-300 euro investment for 10%.
