Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Card.  This fixes driver crashes when switching from DSD playback.  There are other issues we are currently working on, but this is what we have today.
Release Notes (v0.2.1.5):
  • Updates firmware to 0x31
  • Fixes Audio crash after DSD playback

Let us know what you think, or if you run into any issues.  If you are using an older version of Windows and are running into one of these issues, please let me know and I will look into it.  However, please only request this if you are experiencing these issues.

What is the EVGA recommended procedure to update a driver? Uninstall the old one manually first, or just run the installer on the new version?
Does this firmware upgrade address any problems that some users reported with a hum or hiss heard through the headphones with the previous newest firmware?

After completely removing the previous driver (EVGA NU Audio_0.2.1.2_WIN10), restarting windows and installing this new driver (EVGA NU Audio_0.2.1.5_WIN10) there is always an error (evga nu audio init error) and a message asking to reinstall the driver after each reboot. I've also noticed that the 'EVGA_NahimicAPI 64-bit' entry doesn't appear in the list under 'Uninstall or change a program'.

I have uninstalled driver v0.2.1.5 and reverted back to 0.2.1.2. This as fixed the evga nu audio init error.

After the driver reinstallation messages appear, do so. First the furm will be updated, after restart you will have to repeat the procedure with the installation. This is the fun of installing new drivers clean.

Unfortunately, I will report a problem with the new drivers. I decided to record something from an external source and beam, during the recording there were crashes that were not as pronounced for older drivers. I replaced the drivers with older ones and the problem is not registering for now, furmare remains unchanged 031, drivers 0.2.1.3_WIN10_debug_unsign_beta.

I have detected a serious problem in my EVGA Nu Audio card regarding the corruption of any type of sound in TeamSpeak, either in the program's own voices or mine or those of my colleagues, making it impossible to understand anything, it's as if the audio codec was malfunctioning. With drivers 0.2.0.7 everything goes perfectly, but from 0.2.1.2 gives problems in this application.

I also did a complete clean reinstall of the new driver package after removing the old one and can confirm the error message "audio init error" as shown below.

According to this, I ran setup a second time which finished without issues.
Teamspeak 3 is still distorted, but it was not announced that the problem would be solved in this release,
    so we stay patient.

Guess I will be holding off on this for a little bit since several people have been reporting problems.

Yes this issues comes from the new Nahimic driver from EVGA. When you stop them, or deactivate the autostart then everything fine, but you lost the possiblity to activate Nahimic then.
I wont update anything, since the biggest issues are not solved.
But im total sure, my "crackle" what i got, is difficult to fix, maybe not possible. But before the Nahimic stuff is not fixed, i dont upgrade.

This is the issue I've encountered. Sadly a restart and a second installation did not solve it.

I can confirm I have a sleep issue too, I get the same boxes shown above but I have an additional problem, about half of the time the machine wakes up from sleep, the card doesn't show even existing in my system, no sound works.  I have to reboot the PC to get my sound back.

Ok, I don't use Nahimic (only stereo), so I'll deactivate it from Windows 10 to see if TeamSpeak works correctly waiting for a new driver to solve this issue. Thanks a lot.

The installation of the 0.2.1.5. crashed my system completely. Even system restore was'nt possible. All I did was a clean deinstall of the previous driver and after a restart I did a installation of the new driver. Sorry, but I'm really angry. I had a really good system before it crashed and I'd invested lots of time in it. Your hardware is really great but please get the driver fixed as soon as possible! And please give us the option to exclude Nahimic stuff during the installation process of the drivers, make it optional to install Nahimic features. I had never problems with the drivers before Nahimic was implemented...

That would be great for those of us who don't want to use this kind of multichannel sound emulations like Nahimic.

Just updated to 2.1.6 and can confirm:  Audio Nirvana Achieved

Seriously though, all my DSD crash woes are resolved, SQ is sublime and everything is looking really great.

No issues on sleep/reboot, I did do a full uninstall/clean install of 2.1.6.

I did a clean uninstall/reinstall of the new 2.1.6 drivers and now permanently receive the audio init error (which came with 2.1.5), every time now the Nu Audio control panel starts. I'll revert to 2.0.7 or 2.1.2 for the time being.

Re: NU Audio Driver Release v0.2.1.5 (Win10) [Fixes Crash after DSD Playback] 2019/12/19 14:22:09 (permalink)
TLDR: the driver upgrade to 2.1.6 was  the most difficult I have ever encountered for any hardware, but it seems to be working now.

I recommend backing up your system before an upgrade, creating an up-to-date Windows recovery USB, and setting aside an hour or two just in case things go wrong.

I got a blue screen of death while running the installer for 2.1.6. Previously 2.0.7 was installed, and I had manually uninstalled it and rebooted before running the 2.1.6 installer. The Windows component in which the exception was generated was asmtxhci.sys. Upon restarting after that blue screen, I got pretty worried because initially it posted but Windows failed to start; then after a reset the system would not post at all. Uh oh. Not good. I called technical support and we spent a long time troubleshooting it. Eventually we got the system to post again with the Nu audio card installed. It may have been that the CMOS needed clearing (which we did do), although it's hard to say because at one point I foolishly forgot to reattach the display port cable after continually powering down the system to be able to move or remove the Nu Audio card. (Not attaching the display port cable no doubt made it look like it was not posting, whoooops). But in any case, I am 100% sure the system would not post after the initial post-blue-screen-of-death-reboot because at that point I hadn't yet touched the hardware.

After confirming the system would run Windows with the card installed without errors, I reran the 2.1.16 installer. It failed to install three times. Got a blue screen of death with the asmtxhci.sys error again one of those times too. Reran the installer and finally it worked. I upgraded the firmware after a reboot. The installer had prompted me to reboot and at the same time prompted me to upgrade the firmware. I chose to reboot first, and save the firmware update until after the restart.

I don't hear any mysterious hums through the headphones, which I'm relieved about, given other user reports. Then again my headphones are only 50 ohm, but whether that makes any difference I have no idea.

There are now three entries in the Control Panel: EVGA Nu Audio Driver v4.66.0, EVGA Nu Audio Utility, EVGA_NahimicAPI 64-bit.

I have noticed that if I uninstall the EVGA NahimicAPI entry from the Control Panel the TeamSpeak doesn't give any issues.

Worth mentioning, I have never had to remove the driver prior to installing the new one. As Lee pointed out in a previous driver thread, just closing the program from the taskbar and running the installation files has worked perfectly fine.
    Working correctly so far.

    Thanks,

Still having huge audio stuttering issue when network traffic as download speed increases rapidly.

I confirmed this issue many times as tested on speedtest.net. on rapid increase in download speed from 0 to 450Mbps, audio is insanely stuttering.

This symptom does not occur when the download speed is low (around 100Mbps) or testing upload speed.

I don't know why but when i test with on-board audio this doesn't happened at all. can you test to resolve this issue?

    Hello
after updating the AMD drivers on the video card with the latest Adrenaline 19.12.3, the sound card problems have disappeared for me, the newest drivers 0.2.1.6. This applies to people using the AMD platform on their personal computers.

    Updated to latest version.
Audio effects and quick equalizer do not work.
    Advanced equalizer works.

    Works at first.
However, when the notification sound of Discord comes, it is invalidated.
