Sorry for the big text friends but it's so you can understand the general context. At the beginning of 2019 I made my first assembly which I changed parts over the years, until it was like this:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
GPU: MSI RX 570 8GB OC
RAM: 4x8GB (Corsair 3200MHz and EVGA 3000MHZ)
MB: Aorus B450m
CASE: irrelevant data xD
SSD: EVO 970 Plus and Corsar MP400
HDD: 2x8TB Seagate Barracuda
Very happy with my assembly but in December 2021 the power supply only turned on when I wanted to, since I gave it to turn on and half a second later it turned off, I had to try several tim
es to keep it on, so I decided to write to support to appeal to warranty for a replacement. When I found out that I had to send the font for review and they don't pay shipping costs outside the USA, I just thought: I live in the Dominican Republic, sending the font to the USA will cost me more than 60 dollars (I'm not lying :| ), better I bought a new one that is worth 45 dollars and that's what I did.
At the beginning of October (2022) when I just woke up I have the habit of checking if my PC is on and if it was, but 40 minutes later I hear that it turns off, I thought it had hibernated and was calm. Already when I finish preparing my breakfast and I am going to sit down to use the PC I press start and surprise, it does not react at all, I check the power strip and it was on, my monitor connected there also turned on as well as the television, only the PC did not turned on I ruled out the possibility of overvoltage since I checked my entire house and nothing was damaged.
I start disassembling the PC to identify the fault, I did the clip test on the power supply and it was dead. I still have the first power supply saved and I connect it to test and the PC turns on but it did not start since it indicated in the post test that there were problems with the CPU.
I go to a friend who also has an AMD CPU and now the post test indicated problems in the GPU, we mounted his GPU and everything boots normal, so my CPU and GPU are damaged. It should be noted that the GPU has no visible damage and I do not perceive a burning smell, it is simply dead because not even the fans turn on.
Then I send a support ticket explaining this situation and they tell me to first check the warranty of the damaged components and that in case they deny me this I send screenshots, that's what I did for my CPU since fortunately it was still under warranty , AMD support approved my RMA and sent me a "Sipping label" to cover the cost of shipping from the Dominican Republic to the USA. Everything went well with AMD and I already have my processor.
The problem now is my GPU since I bought it on EBAY logically I have no warranty.
Based on this problem, EVGA told me to open the RMA and depending on the diagnosis of the power supply, they will give their verdict to replace the GPU or not.
He made me investigate similar cases and I am afraid that I did not find encouraging results and now I am full of doubts that do not encourage me to pay more than what the power supply is worth in shipping, due to the little possibility that they will replace the card damage graph.
Could you give me recommendations. How to proceed in this case?
