About 7 years and it has been run hard folding with it for most of the time until I got down for a while.
Want to get a new one built one of our forum members has said he would help with that.
Have most of the parts for water cooled build still have the two EVGA 1080 Hydro Coppers. Been thinking about better cards but EVGA is out of stock on new Hydro Coppers that I would want at this time.

LOL did say my brand new never opened 1080s were old. Just looking at how things have advanced while away wonder when the next gen will come out.

When I get paid next month with what I have saved might upgrade the cards and donate the 1080 hydrocoppers to the builder along with using the builders associate code for the purchase.

You guys are the best feels like I came home to a warm welcome.

All the new hardware (AMD/NVIDIA both) is expected to launch around Sept/October, so best to wait until then if you're thinking of getting new hardware!

Maybe not old, but it is now considered a 'mid tier GPU'. No more high end ;)

I would still consider it high end as most settings in games it's able to set to max and still be playable.

My pair of Old 1080Tis are still rocking the folding.
The only long term reliable cards I've got (Sort of). Only traded 1 out twice...

The 1080 Ti is only marginally faster than a budget RTX GPU, like the 2060 or 2060 Super; which, unless you're running an igp or the GTX 1600 series, is about the lowest Nvidia sells new, nowadays.
I bet it'll have a hard time keeping 30FPS on modern RTX games.
Times have moved very fast with the introduction of Turing architecture.
High end gaming is 2070 Super or up.
Their PPD range is also 2x to 4x more than a 1080Ti.

In hopes of having a new for me folding rig built in about the next two months. Sticking with windows 7 for my folding rigs just to many problems for this old mind to fight with windows 10.
As a result purchased two EVGA 2080 ti GPUs for the build as they will run on windows 7.
