I was really shocked to hear that I had won a complete system during the EVGA 13th Anniversary Event. I couldn't believe my eyes. Because it's a really high end system, and never have I owned a High-end system. I don't really post pics or show off, but since many people said that new comers win systems, and sell them off, but let me tell you EVGA also helps many users like me Keep up with the rest of the pack. :) Since the Past 1 Year, I had switched from two Pentium D Processors, and onto a Core2Duo processor. Had Shifted from an 8600GT to internal graphics because my bored killed it due to some setting. Then I had got an EVGA GTX560. Since 2007, I've had a couple of drives die on me, so i stopped being so enthusiastic about upgrading. It used to take me a couple of cold starts and RAM cleaning each time to get the computer running But now EVGA gave me a major system Overhaul. So thanks EVGA and Velocity Micro and Thank God! :) The Specs of the new system are: i7 3770K @ Stock 3.50Ghz(Ivy Bridge) EVGA GTX680 (2GB) ASUS P8Z77-V Motherboard Patriot Memory G2 Series 2x4GB kit (1600Mhz) Corsair TX850 PSU Asatek Liquid Cooling (Like the first gen Antec AIO liquid cooling solution Hitachi 1TB Drive Blu Ray Player. Here are a few Screenshots: Here's it when it Came. It arrived in week at the airport, but the customs had stopped it due to the high value, and then after a week of running up and down I managed to get my system. Was so happy to take it home. :) Few Pics while i was unboxing it. It was like a kid opening Christmas presents early on Christmas. :) The Box with all the manuals, spare cables etc, The Mouse: The Keyboard & Mouse: I was surprised they included the Mouse and Keyboard. I love the slim keyboard. Although it did take some time to get used to as its key placement was slightly different from my older keyboard. And the Mouse has a nice Rubber grip for the palm :) I was thinking of using My old GTX560 as a dedicated Physix card, but I thought it would be wiser to sell it and get a NAS with RAID capabilities, so I can have a bit more piece of mind with my Data. As you can see, the GTX680 is a monster compared to my GTX560 and 8600GT :) Here's my old system while i was copying and backing up my data to the new system: And a few days after i had backed up, my primary Drive with half of my data had crashed. So thanks a lot EVGA and Velocity Micro, you really saved me another heart attack. :) Here was my Old System's Mascot, seems like i'll have to get a new mascot :D Here is my new stuff that I traded in my old components for. Decided instead of using my old system as a 500W media server, and data back up system, it would be wiser to use a 25W server consisting of a better router with OpenWRT and A DLINK DNS325. The Dlink was on sale, which made it the cheapest NAS to get that time. :) For now I got a 1TB drive in it, so no RAID. Will upgrade it with another 1TB drive and RAID it around Christmas time and keep my family pictures / documents safe :) And I plan on getting a Raspberry Pi (512MB version ) in a couple of months. I know i need to work on the cable management behind my desk, but For the first time in my life, all the LAN ports on my Switch/Router are in use. :D In the dark: A Few More Pics of the New PC stuff: REALLY, THANK YOU EVGA and VELOCITY MICRO!!!! :) And thanks a lot for using a Hitachi Drive, instead of Seagate or Western Digital, I hope it's way better than all these dead drives I accumulated since 2007. Thanks once again!.. Without you guys I would have had a non working system. I rewired my complete desk. and there wasn't an earth/ground wire in my house, so i added an earth wire to my stabilizer and computer chassis, and attached it to the buildings television antenna pole. The extra current from the chassis has become less, but its slightly there. The LCD is giving off extra current through the HDMI and DVI cable. I dont know why. :S and The Stabilizer is fine, until i plug in my LCD. :S The LCD was new.. Anyone having any advice to remove this extra current, would be good. Coz i don't wanna screw up my old system. I barely use it a couple of hours, disconnect the power cables when I'm done, and cover it with the plastic covering that came with it. :) Also planing on getting some slot protectors so no dust, and moisture gets into my slots. Haven't tried folding, its limited to upload speed right? I heard on OCN that one guy was folding on his system, and browsing the web at the same time, and his system actually caught fire :S

Congrats on the win. Very nice system they gave you. Also sucks that you've had bad luck with Western Digital. I've had nothing but good luck with them.

(Edited out for language) why is my Nickname not showing ryandigweed. :S I was logged into the main Site. :S My Girlfriend has been using my system. She left it logged in ! :( And I typed this whole thread from her account ! .. by the way, the older WD's were awesome, and the Black editions are good from the newer series. The Green Series are really bad. So i decided to Use a 7200.12 By seagate on it.

The TP-Link router is a champ !. :) I know a TP link router sounds all chinese, but in a tight budget, they make good devices. :) Depending upon your budget and requirement. If you could afford the ASUS Dualband N66U, then go for it, nothing better than it. But on the other hand, if you don't really require something so grand, and expensive, i would suggest you to go for this TP-Link WR1043ND. I Loaded OpenWRT on it. And im running a lot of applications like Samba server, transmission etc. So it does reboot a couple of times, but if you're running it with less things on it, it may just need a reboot once a month or less. This model has around 400Mhz of the CPU ,and 32MB of ram. The ram can be swapped with a chip of the listed compatible DDR1 RAMS, so it can be upgraded to 64MB, or you can use the USB as RAM MEmory(but it works slower) I'm thinking of putting a couple of heat sinks on it. :) Yeah for now the system is so clean. I don't wanna mess it up with my UV lights and stuff, because the guys and Velocity Micro did an amazing job with the cabling. :) Almost all of the cables are hidden. :) Thanks for all your well wishes guys. :)

Thanks all. :)
@decerto, I hope you win an upgrade too! :) @_Nite_, The unboxing pics were from my cellphone when I had gotten the system in August. The later pics, with the watermarks, and which are properly taken were clicked a few weeks back from my Girlfriend's Camera. So quite a bit of dust had accumulated till then :( Although I keep dusting my components before using it. @FattysGoneWild, they did have an SSD with 2000Mhz ram, and a 2nd GTX680 on the original model, but I guess they donated the system while removing the extra goodies. :D But I might purchase either an SSD for thesystem, or a 2TB drive for my NAS around christmas. :) @notfordman, yeah I will tuck the cable bunch higher so it's hidden through the window. :) I'm also wondering if i should transfer the crazy lighting from my older system to this system. I really love the stock cable management though, and i don't wanna mess it up :) I Am also thinking of making a couple of fan filters to keep the dust out. :) Still concerned about the current flowing throught the HDMI,DVI cable and chassis, it doesn't allow my monitor to go into stand-by. The power light is always on, although the display goes goes blank due to the screen saver.

@VelocityMicro Thanks a lot for taking the time to create an account and to reply to my thread. I really feel honored. I didn't know how extensive the quality control was! although I knew they had checked it properly since it had a quality check paper, which had been signed by the assembler and the tester. I think that's really good because some other companies just assemble the systems and sell them. They don't test whether the system is perfect or not. Then the customer has to take it home and then find out there's something wrong with it. :) I wanted to share my experience with the community to show how much EVGA and sponsors like Velocity Micro has done for people of the community like me! :) Thanks once again !.. :) I really loved the cable management! and the placement of everything. :) It's like a tailored fit suit ! :) Everything is so perfect :) Only thing is that I'm having issues getting the card reader to read and show the SD Cards. But I'm using an external card reader for now. Not an issue. :) THANK YOU :) THANK YOU ! :)

I have got some good news and some bad news. The Bad news, the Hitachi 1TB drive started to be a bit buggy on boot, and giving issues with partitions. WIndows wouldn't install on it. So the good part, i got an SSD, and installed windows on it. But unfotunately the SMART test from the Hitachi tools showed the error in the screenshot, How bad is this error? Should i transfer this to the NAS, and get a 2TB seagate? I dont understand how these things keep happening. All i did was play some steam games on it, along with some movies. :S

Yeah the taxes was coming to quite a bit, but then I managed to convince them it was a gift. :D ------- Used the Acronis Alignment tool on the Hitachi website, then wiped each partition with EASEUS, and then made a single Partition of the drive... The above test is showing less errors as compared to last night. :) Thank God, :) Last night were 24, today is just one. Going to run a chkdsk, and then start copying data right after that. It's going to take a while. Ill defrag it after each set of folders is copied :)
