Does anyone know what I should do to get My G19 keyboard to work to acces BIOS?  The keyboard works fine after windows boots. It seems that the USB ports are not powered up until windows starts. I've tryed all the  USB Legacy settings, but the keyboard is not enabled until windows stars, Help! I'm using an old IBM ps2 keyboard to enter BIOS, it sucks.

the g19....for me....sometimes does this....i actully get a no keyboard error, try plugging it in right after the computer starts. Mine seems to work better after it was full powered up...then restarted. Unplugging and plugging back in the g19 works sometimes too.

I had issues with my G19 keyboard. It won't work reliably on certain chipsets. The ol' 790i I currently have being one. The problem stems from the USB2.0 hub in the keyboard itself and is a known hardware issue in the G19's. It can work for months with no problem, then bam, problems come and go from then on.

I'm using 28 Bios. I noticed that the power light on the keyboard doesn't come until windows starts, which implies that there is no power to the usb ports until then.

I guess for Jacob to solve if possible.  The truth on the logitec keyboards was memtioned above.  They have a USB hub built into them which has a great deal of issues coming to life without actual drivers from Logi or Win7 to work.  If I were you I would keep a second cheaper just for keyboard for BIOS access.  IMO this problem is Not unique to EVGA as it is all across the internet with all types of boards.  I use a Microsoft keyboard and have No problems.  I have also used 2 different Off Brands in USB with no issues.

In one of the early BIOS's there were some compatibility issues with some USB keyboards, newer BIOS's should have improved compatibility.

For the hell of it I plugged my G19 into the USB under the bluetooth, the same place awalleyeguy said hes was, well, it works fine now. Just to make sure, I tryed it in the other USB's and it didn't work. Plugged it back into the USB under the Bluetooth and it works.

That would be the USB 2.0 which you need to use to enter BIOS. Glad it worked out! Happy holidays.

Folks, USB 3.0 is not native to the chipset meaning to ensure compatibility in the BIOS you need to plugs your keyboard into a USB 2.0 port.  Why on earth would anyone use a USB 3.0 port for a keyboard anyway?

Consequently, this isn't unique to EVGA boards.  My ASUS Z68 board was this as well.  It's been an issue since USB 3.0 was added to boards.

that happens to everyone of my keyboards no matter what usb2 port I plug into
    luxeed keyboard check
    microsoft keyboard check
    apple keyboard check
    deck keyboard check
    enermax keyboard check
    razer keyboard check
not one of my keyboards will work on everyboot to get into the bios its like there is no power to the port all the time.
I have even gotten into bios only to have no keyboard once I got to the first page, then sometimes I have to switch ports and it will work other times no go and I have to reboot.
for me the only consistent way to get into bios is to pull the hard drives then boot in till I get the no hard drive detected hit f1 to enter bios

I've experienced similar issues with my G15 on my previous 780i SLI, and a few with the X79 FTW.

Best results I had was to use the 2 USB ports next to the Bluetooth, and like others said, the one under it as well.

I am having the same issue with my G15. I have isolated it to either disabling the LAN 2 option in the bios or disabling the 1X PCIE option. It appears if I disable those two options in the BIOS my Logitech G15 stops working (you'll hear any extra low beep before post when it doesnt work).

I didn't have any problems with my G19 in the bios with my X79 FTW at all. All I did was plug it in one of the USB ports on the back of the motherboard.

For what it's worth, I'm using a G19 on an ASUS Sabertooth Z77. Same problem: UEFI (BIOS) doesn't recognize the keyboard plugged into the USB 2 #1 port. All other USB devices are recognized. The keyboard doesn't come to life until Windows 8.1 comes to life. All drivers and firmware are in their latest iterations.
I spoke to ASUS. They said it's a regular problem with gaming keyboards, not just Logitech's.
I spoke to Logitech. Big waste of time. They sent me to Microsoft/Windows support! Seems they don't understand the problem is not related to the operating system. Always passing the buck.
Good luck. If I get an answer I'll let you know.

On which particular mainboard and with which BIOS version? What are your USB settings? I'm running with all USB devices initialized in the UEFI.

    Hey all,

Well here is a clue, but not an answer, I have 2 separate loads on 2 different hard drives.  Both run win 7 64.  I have an x58 board.  on the one load, it boots fine and I can access the bios with the keyboard, on the other load, the keyboard will not initialize until windows starts ... its driving me batty.

that leads me to think its a driver issue with the chipset.  Not really sure what to do about it.  Makes switching loads a pain in the butt.

I have the G19 keyboard with this Dark, plugged into one of the top usb2 slots on the I/O, running EUFI with Windows 8.1, and  have had no issues at all, recognized in the bios fine.
I did this build back in Dec, and have ran the original shipping bios, and then 2.08 followed by 2.09.

It's been said before, but don't use USB 3 on any EVGA motherboard, they really dropped the ball on it. Plug mice, keyboard, and USB headsets into the 2.0 ports to avoid the crud job EVGA has done with choosing USB 3 hardware.

That said, the last really good motherboard without problems I had from EVGA is the P67 FTW - still going strong along with my X58 Classified 4 way. Too bad the X79 FTW was absolute crud, and the X79 Dark is only marginally better and not worth the 280 dollars I paid to "step-up" to it.

Re: My Logitech G19 won't work in BIOS 2014/02/08 17:31:28 (permalink)
Interesting that the problem isn't localized to any particular chipset or mainboard-- EVGA or ASUS are both susceptible. It's also not a consistent problem. Some have the problem and some don't with similar hardware setups. Since Logitech replaced the keyboard, assuming without admitting responsibility for a possibly wonky part (musta taken their cue from "Mistakes were made"), the replacement, an updated G19s, will work on my Z77 mainboard, being read in BIOS. But not in the first two USB2 sockets., only in 3, 4 and beyond. Any other device, like the mouse, plugged into those two ports, functions right from boot-up. Both Logitech and Asus haven't a clue why or even care why. In retrospect, the $200 I spent on the board, plus the time expended on this issue, was so much waste. I wonder if I can claim it as a gambling loss on my taxes.
Aside from the bells and whistles, the K19s doesn't do a better job in any application including games than my trusty old Logitech K350. One learns that bling is a poor reason for throwing away money.
