As the title says, my GTX 970 has died for the 3rd time. I have already done 2 RMA's and I think my card is out of warranty. I don't understand why these cards keep dying. I've done system checks on my other hardware without finding any issues. I'm at a loss at what to do at this point, I'm a college student and can't afford to purchase a new 1000 series card.

I have had the same exact issue with my Titan X's.
    I also had 0 money.
I got back 6 BAD cards, and stuck with the 6th one, because it was the LEAST messed up.
But, I also put heatsinks on the backside, have 3 fans dedicated to cooling it, A/C blowing into the case (not needed but it helps keep the temps down more so it wont gout as fast), have a video card holder to keep it straight (bend is VERY bad for a video card), AND I use MSI Afterburner at 100% fan speed when I game.
All of that JUST to play a video game that looks terrible (mesh and color issues, severe pop-in, flickering, white AND black screening, and a whole host of other issues.

    I feel for you man.
Maybe an EVGA rep will help you out.

Or, can you scrape enough together for a used card? There are lots of good cards out there, used, that people jumped onto the 1000 or 2000 series bandwagon, and just want a little money for their old card to offset their new card purchase.

Solder cracking on the PCB might be the issue.

If it's out of warranty, you can disassemble the card and bake the PCB like this which should reflow any solder cracking that might exist, and hope for the best.

If you bake it, aka 'the oven trick', do it with the GPU chip side facing up or otherwise larger surface-mounted components might fall off.
