Thanks! I had a REALLY hard time with the acrylic tubing, I ordered more than I needed to start, wasted it all trying to do two tiny bends to the distro plate from rad... had to order a bunch more. By the time that arrived I had gotten much better at bending :)

That's the best color scheme eva🤤

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Re: My 5950x/ KINGPIN Hydrocopper custom loop build 2021/07/14 07:04:14 (permalink)
Took quote a bit of time as it was my first time
First I spent a lot of time looking at other builds in this case to determine roughly what size radiator sizes would fit with clearance for the fans and vertical GPU. I had to get the EKWB vertical GPU holder in particular because most others including the Lian Li one are too low to fit the 60mm rad I put on bottom. After that I had to learn about fittings and ordered enough for the build, as well as some other fittings I potentially could use.
I Also got a acrylic bending kit that came with a silicon tube pipe insert (to prevent pipe from collapsing when heated) and a hacksaw/chamfer tool. I could not make straight cuts whatsoever with the hacksaw so I ended up using a back saw and a plastic mitre box to make all the cuts. I ruined about 6 packages of tubing before I got the hang of getting the bends where I wanted them, I free hand bent them all. I bought a 90/45 template but everytime I tried to use it the pipes ended up way worse than my hand bends. I ended up ordering a bunch of extenders and more 90's after my first fail and a drill bit chamfer tool, the chamfer tool is a godsend as you can just use it to shorten the pipes to proper length after making a rough cut. Probably took around 40-60 hours but I was recording it all on video so sure that added to my time considerably.

I wish my first build looked that nice! Those distro plates are really nice to have. The plumbing is perfect, it looks like to me. I find it amusing you got a better result without all the tools. You should be very proud of what you made. Thanks for showing it off.

I have yet to go hard line, but am gathering the parts for it. What brand of tube did you go with?

    EK-Loop Hard Tube 16mm 0.5m - Acrylic
The tubing itself was honestly not that hard to work with, just getting a mental understanding of where the tube will end up distance wise after you make a bend(when making multiple 90s) was the hardest part for me. As far as the bend templates you have to somehow get a hot wobbly piece of acrylic into a pre-made bend, every time I tried to get the pipe into it I would deform the outside of the pipe pushing it into the template, when all you really need is the square edge of a table to hold your pipe next to while it cools.

Outstanding build, very clean and tidy. I am currently working on a build using the same mobo and cpu, but waiting in queue for the gpu. Will be my first custom loop also, I can only hope it turns out as well as yours lol. Any tips you wish you knew ahead of time before working with acrylic? Jealous of your Kingpin!
