The issue is that the top portion of my monitor, about 20% of it flickers black seemingly randomly.
I have a video of the issue but, first post so I can't put links. :/

I just got a brand new RTX 3060ti FTW3 and I never got this before now, the monitor in question is a Samsung Odyssey G5 27" plugged in with Display port.
Tried re-installing drivers and restarting monitor and it continues, it's pretty annoying, didn't know where else to post this.
Would really appreciate any suggestions.

At home most people use an HDMI cable going to their TV. Remove this cable and run this cable to your monitor and graphics card instead of the DP cable and see if there is improvement. If there is improvement I would say your DP cable is faulty or cheap.

What Nvidia GPU driver version are you running? If it is an old version, you might want to update as there have been various fixes for flickering since the 30 series release. https://www.nvidia.com/Do.../index.aspx?lang=en-us

There appears to have been a firmware update for the G5 in January (version 1006). https://www.samsung.com/i...7G55TQWUXEN/#downloads

If you turned on Gsync, try turning it off (or update drivers - some versions had issues with Freesync monitors that were later made Gysnc compatible in the driver). You could also try lowering the refresh rate from 144 to 120 to see if that helps.

As already mentioned, a certified DP cable may be needed.

Try different ports on the 3060 ti.  Check using onboard GPU (if possible)  so you can nail it down to either the GPU or the monitor.

    +1.

Just replaced my Amazon basics dp cable with a 1.4 cable and it did fix the flickering.
