Ouch.... I knew it might be until the end of July at least for NVIDiA with the huge possibility even further out for AMD hardware but this is getting beyond stupid.

My thoughts exactly.  At this point, may as well wait for 40xx series and see if anything changes as far as supply goes.  Not holding my breath though.  Glad i'm not desperate.

I said 6 quarters before things improve

there are cards out there.... you figure on 100k GPUs for AMD and same for Nvidia a month (it probably worse than that  -like 50k each)
you have how many countries...do the math
less than 1K cards per country a month

Now you wonder why you don't see stock when there are millions wanting them in a country
    Its a crap shoot

you have to be online - you have to be quick - and you have to look at smaller online retailers that don't get as much online traffic
thats how i got 2 - smaller online retailer

big fish retailer forget it by the time you see it its gone already - - i been thru checkout a number of times now (even with turing  a few years back)and had the same results

Not very surprising. I guess I will get on with my new builds. Was thinking of adding some 30 series cards, but I may wait until the RTX 50 series now.

The problem will be that we're going to have the same issues with the 4000 series as we're having now. Manufacturing won't be on a big enough scale to compensate all the miners and gamers.

not sure what but RAM inched up lately suggesting the trump countervail is attacking RAM from Samsung now?

Some trackers forecast it going up for Q1. Covid supply disruptions catching up to production belatedly, as well as production lines beginning to transition away to DDR5 already.

When they move on from 7Nm, then they will be on a different node then the consoles. That will help a lot.

I think it will probably end before then as people start to find PS5 and Xbox Series X on the shelf and they start to go back to work and school thus making portable laptops more of a sought after choice. A lot of people don't realize a huge part of the problem is people working from home and liking the idea of having a desktop computer and they have been making them gaming PC's as well. When we start to see people get the vaccine in amounts that allow them to go back to work or continue to work from home we will quickly have people realizing that being seen in the office by the boss is how to get noticed.

And then all those people going back to work at the office will need office systems, so there will be a fresh surge of demand from that angle. Old systems either will need to be updated or after a year some machines just don't work anymore. Hopefully businesses realize home workers means they could save on the IT and equipment costs.
