https://www.windowscentra...en-clipping-experience It's a tool you can access from the action center provided it makes its way to final build. If so then you can expect it for the next major Windows 10 update. It looks to me to be a far easier method for clipping than the present method.

Sounds like it could be an improvement to what has kind of felt as a dated feature.

The question is, what is a clip? The same thing as a shot or a snip? I like the snipping tool because it has simple highlight and edit tools built in and doesn't just assume which directory you want to save the image in.

I was wondering the same thing. I use the Snipping tool quite often. Quick, easy, and it does just what you need it to do... I see in the article that it "may" replace the current snipping tool.

I hope not, unless it works just the same as the Snipping tool. I use the Snipping tool very often and like that I can chose to snip a window, rectangle, free form or full screen.

Judging by the gif in the OP, it looks like all of those selection options are available.

I also use the snipping tool almost daily. Hope they don't remove it.

As am I. Would be a shame if they remove it. I actually have it pinned to my start menu...

Nice, it's a stand-alone .exe file - you can find it at C:\Windows\System32\SnippingTool.exe I've saved a copy of it in a separate data drive for future use when MS decide to screw with it. hrm.. it doesn't seem to work outside that directory..
