This is a recent and good review of FS 2020 including what to expect with in app purchases. It looks like all 37000 airports are capable of t/o and landings.

There are only 40 hand modeled (I think 49 now) airports with third party developers adding more airports and aircraft.

Yup. What I read is there a very limited number of *highly detailed* airports, but quite a few more that are not so fully detailed but you can still t/o & land. I'm not at all surprised. New high-detailed airports will no doubt be offered further down the line as DLC's along with new aircraft, at a price of course. This is how they continue their money stream. If it helps keep the platform up to date then it's reasonable, as long as they don't go over the top with DLC pricing.

The real information I want to hear about is the SimConnect capability and multi-camera views be it via the same computer or multiple networked computers for the same simulator build and how well that scales. One thing FS has always had issues with is scaling, which means if you plan on doing multiple displays in a simulator you're going to need to network them together with several computers. This is the hidden elephant in the room no one is talking about right now and will be the determining factor for taking this seriously as a flight simulator platform. Several thousand people have built up Boeing and Airbus simulators in their garages. If this doesn't work with those sim kits, you're going to see the title snubbed by the ones that are really into this genre.

This is exactly what I want to know! I am still getting it, but coming from FSX with 5 licenses and 5 machines to run it will be a change! Just built a new systems to handle it. I will still reconfigure and use FSX on the system.

Looking over what FS 2020 is offering is pretty amazing, but it seems too much like work. I'm looking forward to just free flying and looking at the scenery.

I read an article that introduced this site for those that want to fly gate-to-gate. Most of you may already be aware of this.

Seems one can make this as real and complicated as you want.

Unless you have a subscription for Jepps already you can access the FAA for USA related aeronautical charts. Here is one link you can use for NOAA charts. NOAA charts are not as good as Jepps (imo) but they give what you need to set up an enroute/arrival/approach/taxi. Other links in the menu (Digital Products) will give you access to enroute charts.

While this game looks more and more amazing, I think this thing will be a threat to some that have data caps with their ISPs.

RIP my VW legacy unlimited plan.

Not that I could play it anyway, without "upgrading" from W10E LTSC 1809.  Maybe I'll do another boot partition with Pro or normal Ent at some point, next LTSC won't be out until late 2021.  Min for MFS2020 is 1909.

So, do you download FS 2020 tomorrow or wait for the first update on the 20th. (update mentioned in previous article posted)

I'm thinking of waiting.

It does not need this much room. Deluxe version installed was under 91 GB. Adding manual cache for scenery can get large but that is by choice opposed to downloading in real time...

I found it disturbingly, and insultingly odd; that this game not only is NOT DX12, but in fact DX11 and yet....HAS NO SLI Support  oooooooh my sweet love for Microsoft.

Since Nvidia seems to be getting rid of SLI I’m not really surprised though.

It's mind-boggling MS launched this game as a DX11 title. If it was DX12 the calls wouldn't be slamming the main thread and the game could utilize more than four cores.... supposedly MS is planning to release a DX12 update sometime in the future. But the game can't scale beyond four cores until then.   Irony is MS is now talking about DX 12.2, leave it to them to launch a game on DX11...
