Hi everyone,

The title pretty much says it all. I labeled the cables not realizing there are double cables apart from the capacitors on the 24-pin cable and removed the labels completely ending up somewhat stranded.

Going by the G2 pinouts there seem to be 2 different sets and I'm unsure which one is the correct one to follow. Apart from this I seem to have more double cables than the either pinouts list. I can't seem to find a G3 pinout anywhere.

The other alternative I have is to remove the 550W G2 24-pin connector I have on another PC and go by that but I'd rather not remove the factory sleeving just for this task unless it's an absolute last resort.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

No luck yet, it is a Superflower unit. Meaning Superflower is the OEM. Based on Super Flower Leadex II platform

^^ I have been looking through this thread.

It's a fail for me so far, sorry. Hopefully one of our more experienced members will have the info you're after.
Welcome to the forums.

Thanks, notfordman.

I might take the 24 pin out of my 550 G2 and plug it in an older board, if it fires up I guess they would be using the same pinout.

N-Gen look on page 77 of the OC repository list. Post 763, has some highlighted notes. He has a 850 G3, he points back to post 293 [highlighted] for a pin out. BUT, when looking at the pin out it says 850 G2. I dunno for sure. Thought I would show that if it helps confuse you and me. The thread has some good info, make sure to test first.

That was the same pinout I was following, however I was not convinced since I have 5 double cables instead of 3 for some reason, it's quite strange.

I have access to an 850 G2 which also needs to be sleeved, so I could test the cable on that. Alternatively I'll have to buy a psu tester and very all the cables there. The tester route might be the safest bet, to be fair.

Hey N-Gen, I'm not sure if you have made any progress. I just wanted to include a statement, in the above posted stickies:
https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-G3-Power-Supplies-m2579163.aspx   Post 4 Jacob, EVGA's product manager, states the G2 cables are identicle : "Yes, G2 cables are identical."  You did state that you had extra double wires on some.

That seems to be a 100% correct statement. During my search yesterday I did find that EVGA's own cable sets are compatible with both the G3 and G2 series.

For instance:

Still, I will play this safe. I borrowed a PSU tester from a friend yesterday, will pull the ATX connector out of my 550 G2 and conduct a series of tests to verify it's fine for the G3. After that I will make my own pinout diagram by continuity testing the cable and then matching it up to the posts on the pinout repository.

I'll report back with my findings.

Ok, back with some findings.

I took out the ATX connector from my 550 G2, plugged it right into the 1000 G3 and connected the PSU tester to it. Success

After this I connected the 24 pin to my ASUS Crosshair VI Hero, RGB LEDs and the error code display lit up. Success

Took the heatshrink off the 550 G2 connector and started tracing the cables as well as continuity testing. The cables were wired up differently (even one of the capacitors) but in the end they all matched the functions to the 850 G2 pinout found on the repository. So 3.3V goes to 3.3, 5 to 5, 12 to 12 and so on.

I'm attaching the sheet for everyone's convenience, I still have some work to do on it but I figured I'd share.

All I need to do now is finish my sleeving and conduct a final test with the PSU tester to see that everything is in order.
