I just bought the Z270 FTW K along with a new cpu just waiting on payday to get a corsair H100i v2 and memory to complete.
Question - it says that the memory req's are 3600 mhz +, does this then mean i can't use say 3200 mhz memory.

COOLER MASTER HAF X nVidia Edition
EVGA Z270 FTW K
EVGA 1070 GTX
I7 7700K
Samsung EVO 850 500gb SSD
Western digital 1T HDD
Corsair H100i V2 AIO
Corsair Vengance LPX 16gb 3200mhz

Memory will downclock. For example I have the Z270 classified K. I have dominator platinum memory rated at 3000mhz. I am running XMP at 3000 now but when I first got my board I ran it at 2400mhz for a week just to make sure my new board was stable then bumped up to 2667mhz then finally the XMP profile I use now. Rated memory you buy is the max MHz that the manufacturer guaranties it can run at. Your motherboard manual lists all the memory supported as well. You can find links on EVGA motherboard product page. So yes you can run slower memory then 3600mhz if you want.

Is there any benefit to matching your memory speed with your motherboard's max native memory speed? I have some 2400mhz memory and the motherboard im looking at supports up to 2400 without oc.

No benefit. Intel's kaby lake memory controller supports 2400mhz DDR4 officially. All Z270 boards are like this. I have 3000mhz ram but could easily down clock to 2400 if I want. Intel is just saying if you exceed 2400mhz and there are issues then it isn't a 'supported' speed and not an issue with the board itself. Motherboard manufactures test various ram speed configurations and include this list in the manual. You can use your 2400mhz memory and have a great gaming experience. Overclocking memory will only squeeze a few extra frames out anyway so its not a deal breaker not to have the fastest memory available.

you can pretty much use the guide from Jacob for the z170, pretty much the same board and settings apply.
