I have an Asus B250 mining board.  When I added my 8th EVGA 1070 it freezes and occasionally reboots.  This happens at random intervals.  Sometimes I get a couple of days sometimes just an hour.  When I look at the log it denotes a driver issue.  When I disconnect one of the cards it runs flawlessly.  I thought 8 cards was the old limit and with new drivers & bios I could go to 12.  Also the EVGA boost software only seems to be able to recognize 4 cards.  Is this a limitation of there software?  Any thoughts?

Windows doesn't have a limit on gpu's. The nvidia drivers do though, and that number is 8. Precision xoc 6.2.6 and higher can detect more than 4 gpu's.

Did some more research on this...

One guy was trying to get 13 1080 ti gpu's running on windows 10. He was only able to get it working after...

#1 Updating windows 10 to version 1709 or higher.
#2 Using the latest video drivers.
#3 Setting all the pci-e slots to Gen1 inside the bios.

You also have to make sure your CPU/motherboard has sufficient PCI-E lanes/resources

I received a few requests for this thread to be moved from General Software to another forum. This forum seems ideal for this discussion and better than General Software I believe.
