The latest in the METRO series games ...

After a spectacular gameplay reveal during the Xbox E3 2017 Briefing, Deep Silver and 4A Games today announced that Metro Exodus - the next chapter in the critically acclaimed series of Metro games - is planned for release in 2018 on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and PC.

A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro. They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war. But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East.

Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.

Inspired by the internationally best-selling novels Metro 2033 and Metro 2035 by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet.

“We are so proud to finally be able to reveal our next Metro game to the world, and would like to thank all the Metro fans for their patience,” said Andriy Prokhorov, Creative Director and co-founder at 4A Games. “Metro Exodus has been in development for three years between our Malta and Kyiv studios, and represents our most ambitious project yet.”

Really excited for this and it was clear from the trailer why they decided to show this as one of the first demos for the Xbox One X. It looks great.

Yup, I already started the process of updating my build. Went from a HAF 932 advanced to the Phanteks Enthoo Primo black case with Blue LED late last night. I've been waiting to hear more on intel's new chips coming out but I'm not liking what I'm hearing. I need 40 lanes of PCI Express, for that it looks like I would need to at least get that 10 core chip that's like $1000?? So I might just keep my 5930K chip longer than expected. Next thing on my list is to purchase two 1080Ti Hydro cards to replace my two 980Ti Classified cards. Right now I only have a 240 Rad cooling the CPU, with this new case I got I'm putting a 480 on top and a 360 rad on the bottom to cool the CPU and the 1080Ti Hydros. Then after who knows... well I guess I can get rid of that old SLI ribbon and get one of the EVGA PRO SLI Bridge HB, 1 Slot Spacing.. *edit I just ordered one overnight lol.

    Current RIG
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Primo black case
    CPU: Intel I9-13900K
MB: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO
    RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB DDR5 5600
    PS: EVGA 80 PLUS Platinum 1000 W
    SSD: Kingston KC3000 4TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe

In the first game you could barely go outside because it was a post apocalyptic, radiated, snowy wasteland. The second one you had to wear your mask outside, but there didn't seem to be much snow. Now in this one you don't need a mask at all outside and it looks like spring. All in Artyom's lifetime. That radiation sure moved along fast!

It will be interesting to see how the mask plays a part in outside in this game. I think the opening with the breathing and water drops on the mask worked great but outside I am thinking they might have wanted to show off how nice everything looked while inside the effects helped create an atmosphere.

I didn't notice, does the game support HDR? In fact, I wonder how many of these new games are going to support HDR.
