Hi guys. On my X299 Dark I am getting low memory write speeds, I do not know if it's my memory or the chip. Ram isn't the greatest in the world but no matter what settings I mess with the write speed is also low. Only reason I bring this up is because in Timespy my CPU score is about 2000 points low compared to everyone else. I went from a 9800x that scored 12000 cpu points to a 10940x that now scores 12800 points. The ram is a 3600 C18 kit that is B-Die with XMP timings at 18-19-19-39-630. I have had the kit up to 4000mhz with primary timings at 17-18-18-37-460 with 1.5v and while the read speed goes up quite and bit and the latency goes down quite a bit the Write speed is still low. Is there something that I am missing here? CPU is at 4900mhz all core mesh at 30 as going over 30 starts to get instability rather quickly.

Hi, for RAM, you need to work on secondary timings. for CPU, whom have you compared your results to? Can you post some pics or 3DMark link with your result?

Here is my Timespy run at 4.9ghz all core when I had my 2080ti https://www.3dmark.com/spy/16242361
Here is another users Timespy run at 4.9ghz all core https://www.3dmark.com/spy/12147733 There are several other people that are around the 4.9ghz range that are in the 15-16k for CPU score.

Yea I am not so sure, I don't know what is going on with this setup but I have tested everything and the RAM is stable, the CPU is stable but for some reason this board every now and then will start with an FF code and completely fail to to post at all. Gonna try a Spare X299 FTWK I have here today.

Have you compared your scores in other benchmarks, like Fire Strike, Port Royal?

Scores are normal in all other tests, Just Timespy is low.

Nvidia drivers have nothing to do with the Timespy CPU score. At any rate I have figured out the issue and have ordered more RAM.

Lower tRFC to 280-320, lower tFAW to 16-24, and increase tREF to the max (32767). You'll surpass 100 GB/s in AIDA64 write test if you increase your RAM clock to 4000. CPU mesh affects write speed results a lot, increase your cache ratio to 30-32x.

At 4000 I get 115gb/s read but only 88gb/s write. I have Tfaw at 24 right now. Not sure if I can go as low as 280-320 on tRfc. I've also had Tref at 32767 but the write speeds are still fairly low. I'm running mesh at 32.

That's because those processors are probably 5GHz+ Frequency results on Time Spy are pretty bad and do not report properly. I had my i9 10900K @5.4GHz for this result: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/12983361

I know what your saying but that is not the issue. The issue is because of the memory, I was able to do some RAM tweaking over the past couple of days and got the score up to 15k for the CPU from the previous 13k. RAM means a lot for Timespy CPU test.

Hmm... my i7 9700K gets around an 800 point uplift with XMP enabled versus it being off. I suppose since you have nearly double the cores as me, the improvement in score is even greater. Problem is, I can't get this 4266MHz CL17 kit to work with most processors, it only works on the i7 9700K and i7 8086K.

You might try tightening the RAM timings, 67ns seems slightly high. Didn't realize how bad mine were, originally AIDA showed 87ns. Dialed it down to 48ns just from tightening all the timings and bringing it to 1T.
Have water, will cool.

I got them tighter but I just need another RAM kit. The Kit I have Even though it's B-Die it's pretty poorly binned. Won't even do 1T Command Rate past 3600mhz.
