Anyone know what a good / the best Win7 compatable video conversion software is?

Looking to convert DVD's (IFO/VOB) into MP4 files

I had been using Nero, but it just ain't working real well for me...getting really poor quality MP4 videos no matter what settings I use....nothing illegal going on so its not a copy protection issue.

Any ideas / recommendations?

Thanks!

That's nice. If you check their Optimizations link, it's worth it to wait for the SB Z series (which have on-board GPU and support external GPUs, so you can have best of both worlds). The performance of Intel optimizations is outstanding.

    +3 for Handbrake
before that I used to use Nero recode and I've used quicktime and microsoft's encoder before that but none beat ease of use of Handbrake and you can use queque in Handbrake to do as many vids as you want and it uses all cores on my rig AFAICT so it's fast!

Handbrake is the best and free DVD ripping software. If you would pay for a shareware, I'd also recommend DVDFab.
