like most linux distros it will depend on what flavor you are wanting to use, some distros like debian are little slower at fully supporting the bleeding edge hardware, just depends what drivers need compiled for it. you will always have some hicups with certain features not working 100% but that linux in general, some devices just dont ever get enough support from DEVs. only thing i could suggest is to grab a live version of a few distros and see which one works the best, i prefer MX linux, debian based but the features they bake in are awesome.

How sad things have become? Linux sucks as a "regular" desktop OS, plain and simple. And EVGA sells windows based hardware, not Linux.

Coworker has been saying how great Linux is now and how bad Windows 10 is. I was hesitant to upgrade to Windows 10 when I built my new PC but I'm  used to it now and it works flawlessly.

Linux on the other hand? I installed on an extra SSD I have and tried getting the video card drivers to work for almost a full week. What a giant PITA. Didn't even get to trying to set up Plex, my Ubiquiti security camera software, audio card drivers, etc....

If you are spending more than 5 minutes on a modern Intel system installing graphics drivers, that's a sure sign you are doing something wrong. If per chance you happened to come across an installer bug triggered by your system configuration, and didn't raise it with the appropriate maintainers/developers, then that helps no one. That's true of any operating system.

    M2 support,
GPU Driver "Mainly opencl, cuda, opengl, and vulkan"
Unreal Engine, Blender, Acid Pro, willing to use another looper that supports midi inputs on Linux
1440P 144Hz Displayport with less or no issues with scaling/tearing, maybe dual screens

I hate Windows10, its getting better, just starting to feel Windows 10 is the way to go, I just hate an OS being shoved down your throat...

I have a second drive where I boot into Fedora 27 with my EVGA 1070 Ti for CUDA development.
There's no issues other then disabling Wayland which seems to stutter a bit for me. You will have to disable it to use Xorg later for the NVIDIA driver to work with CUDA or 3D apps for gaming.

I'm talking about Nvidia graphics drivers on Linux. The micro ATX Z370 has no onboard graphics.
