I've been fighting with my XR1 Pro to try and get it to output more than 720P 30FPS on Linux Mint 21 and 21.1.  I currently have the latest firmware installed on the device.  The source being sent to the XR1 is set at 2560*1440 144FPS, however I only receive the 720P signal.

I've been testing the video feed using OBS and VLC.  I've tried the device on multiple computers running Linux Mint and I've tried multiple cables.  The HDMI pass-through properly sends the signal out to another monitor but something is preventing the XR1 to output at the full resolution on the destination PC.

I have been able to get the XR1 Pro to provide full resolution on OBS using a win 11 laptop.  However, I have to use a workaround for OBS to properly accept the source.

Is there something that needs to be set somewhere to convince the XR1 Pro to send video at full resolution to the receiving PC?

I have no experience with Linux so hopefully someone can chime in here and help you. Otherwise you might need to try and contact EVGA tech support.

This is typically caused by bandwidth limitations of your system's USB. Make sure to plug in the USB to a USB 3.0 port and it should fix the issue.
The XR1 Pro has two USB A cables, also make sure both are plugged in. I think the dangling one is for additional power, but I've never had confirmation of this.

Thank you for the helpful information.  I ensured each time I was using the device, I used either a usb-c to usb-c or the included usb c to usb a (power) and usb a (data) cables.

It appears to me that the issue is with the device as one of my PCs I have windows and linux, it worked under windows but not in linux.

For me, I had issues with the device as well, until I updated the firmware. My only issue was having to borrow a friend's windows machine to install the update, as my machines are linux. Once firmware flashed, I only have the USB3-A plugged in, with no issues. The USB-A I believe is only there for older systems. It is possible that your system is trying to use the USB2.0 mode instead of USB3 because you have them both plugged in?
I didn't even bother plugging that in, only using the USB3-A plug, and I'm pumping 1440p @144Hz through it.
