Leaked AMD Ryzen Roadmap reveals Big Changes for Zen 4 | OC3D News (overclock3d.net)

Over the past few days, multiple AMD Ryzen CPU roadmaps have appeared online through various sources, revealing AMD's plans for Zen 4 in the desktop and mobile markets. The roadmap below, from @Olrak29_, details AMD's plans for Ryzen until the launch of the Ryzen 7000 series, highlighting details about the company's planned Zen 3+ Ryzen 6000 series and the company Zen 4 based Ryzen 7000 series. As always, please take the data within these roadmaps with a grain of salt.

With Zen 4, big changes are coming to AMD's Ryzen lineup, as AMD's rumoured Raphael silicon would contain Zen 4 CPU cores and RDNA 2 based integrated graphics on a 5nm lithography node. The processor will also reportedly support PCIe 5.0 connectivity and DDR5 memory on AMD's planned AM5 motherboard platform.

Starting with the Ryzen 7000 series, all AMD Ryzen processors should contain integrated graphics, a factor that has long been considered as an advantage for Intel's desktop CPU lineup. Compared to AMD's Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, Raphael should offer hardware enthusiasts performance improvements in all areas, thanks to the CPU's use of improved Zen 4 CPU cores, modern 5nm lithography, DDR5 memory and high-speed PCIe 5.0 connectivity. Before Raphael, AMD's reportedly working on a Zen 3+ processor series called Warhol, offering smaller improvements over today's Zen 3 CPU designs using 6nm lithography and minor architectural changes.

On the mobile/APU side, this roadmap suggests that Cezanne will be replaced with a new CPU design called Rembrandt, offering users an RDNA 2 based integrated graphics solution and new Zen 3+ CPU cores. With Rembrandt, AMD will be pushing mobile gaming further with their strongest integrated graphics solutions to date.

Let's hope that when the time comes for release of these CPUs that many semiconductor shortage issues will be solved.

If AMD goes the Intel route and dedicates 20-30% of the silicon to an IGP that's going to waste their advantage, hopefully it's only for select models. Otherwise people will be paying for all that IGP silicon whether they use it or not.
