If I get z370 ftw and it doesn't have the latest bios, could I update the bios without a CPU or with a not supported, CPU 9900k?

Not on this Motherboard. Only the EVGA X299 Micro ATX 2 can update the Bios without a CPU. ATM

I bought EVGA Z370 Micro board and I'm testing it. It's a really good board. 8700k@5.0 Temperature up to 85 degrees at 1.264v voltage Maximus board goes up 75 degrees under the same conditions The EVGA board is getting higher temperature. I think ... 1. Basically, the temperature displayed on the BIOS is as high as 10 degrees. Current BIOS temperature 42 degrees ~ window 10 temperature 32 degrees ~ 2. Ram timing is too tight. Invisible ram timing - Modifying this ram timing to Maximus's auto ram timing can cause the temperature to drop 3. If all the boards are the same, if the temperature is solved, it will be very helpful for sales. I would appreciate your interest in lowering the board temperature and correcting it. It is the best board among the real CPU and RAM overboard.

I just purchased and set up a Z370 FTW with a i5-8600, using the iGPU. I have it hooked up a LD-2240 TV via HDMI. I flashed to 1.09 on 'BIOS 2', it seems that when you disable 'CSM Support' and install the Intel graphics driver, immediately after installation (not reboot, I mean literally after installation when it changes the resolution) results in no signal at its native resolution. The versions I tried installing were 24.20.100.6286 (latest as of this writing) and the previous version, 24.20.100.6229. I have reset everything to default, and changing 'CSM Support' to disabled was the only option changed. My board came with 1.06 and it does not have this issue when disabling CSM Support. Windows 10 1803 64-bit (latest updates)

Its starting to make me feel like they're saving it as an "feature upgrade" to get people to buy the z390 boards, because they'll lack much other than native USB 3.1 and maybe better power delivery. If that's the case it's bollocks.

I have the same question like mattman657. I ordered the Z370 FTW today (04.10.2018), because the bundle with the AIO and the PSU was to good. But i wanna wait a bit to build my new PC.... with the i7 9900k... so if i get a board with the old bios, i dont know how to update this. So i really hope that this Motherboard will have the new bios.... Is there someone who can answer this important question? Thanks

Hi, I'm new to updating computer bios but I just bought a 8086k at Microcenter today and would like to know if the bios on my z370 FTW will work. I never powered the board so its what ever version it shipped with, I'm still preparing for this new build. I have one way to boot the board if the 8086k will not work and that would require me borrowing my friends 8700k.

I don’t believe there was ever a bios update to ‘support the 8086k’. I have the z370 classified with an 8086k. Just put it in and worked with no issues. Got the processor when it first released. Remember it is really just a binned version of the 8700k anyway. I’m positive you don’t have any thing to worry about. Enjoy your new build!

Any ideas on why when using the iGPU, when "CSM Support" is set to disabled, directly after installing the latest Intel iGPU driver in Windows 10 the screen goes black, causing a permanent "No Signal" from the monitor/TV when in Windows? The only solution is to clean install Windows and avoid installing the driver with 1.09, or leave "CSM Support" enabled, but either way, disabling it should not cause that behavior. v1.06 does not have this problem. This issue is only present in 1.09.

Found another issue with z370 FTW 1.09. Crashes when using any AVX offset with both adaptive and static voltages with multipliers 49, 50, 51. It does not crash at same settings with AVX offset to 0. Doesn't make sense. Oh, and vdroop still way over volts. At this point I wish I could just use another motherboard but I don't want to deal with moving my windows 10 license..

It seems a lot of z370 and z390 mobo are plagued with the same issue. I'm still waiting for the z390 Dark... I hope it come with fix and better stability for overclocking i9 9900k.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see that they were having issues with z390 right out the door. The issues with z370 have been persistent since release, so its really looking like a fix isn't going to be coming for z370 at least. I think z390 has hope, as long as they they dont drop the ball on there too.
